You've always had a couple of these every once in awhile, where undeserving guys made it, but it's usually been perennial stars and sentimental choices... never anything on this scale.
You're right, which is why I think this is precisely the right time to garfinkel the fanvote. No reason to let a travesty go to waste as I see it at this point.

Yeah, I've never cared for the fan vote though I have voted a few times. That it determines WS HFA aside(that really sucks), MLB has by far the best all star game. Everyone actually tries, unlike the other sports. I'd like to see the best and most deserving guys out there every year.

I agree, and I usually vote for who I think should go. It's just too far gone to try to right the ship on this thing at this point.

they should get rid of the fan vote as well as the "home field advantage" crap that Bud made up on the fly because of a tie. Let the players vote and let the fans vote for 1 player after they are done.

At this point I think what's more sad isn't the fact that infante is leading but the fact the Royals still put him in their lineup.

You guys gotta have something in your minors.

Well, despite Doug's optimism, I'm conceding the AL Central title this season if the Tigers continue to use Joba Chamberlain as an 8th inning guy.
Idk man. He's better than Dancing Al. (If it hadn't been extra innings last night, a Tiger woulda got plunked.)

Where'd Joba find his fastball? Jim Price tells me he hit 97!?!

Christian Colon > Infante.

Heck, Mondesi is probably better than Infante at this point even if his OBP is 200.

Yost is just an obstinate moron.

The Twins and Royals won. The Tigers game was postponed. One good thing, we didn't lose

plus side Infante had career high in rbi's to get royals to post season, negative they are paying him 8 million, he's starting no matter how bad this year gets.

True, re Al-B-Q. But with three left-handed bats coming up and Hardy warm, why leave Joba in just "because" he's the one you've tagged as your 8th inning guy? Predictably, all the lefties got hits, and the score was tied. I mean, if Wade Davis is your 8th inning guy, by all means, trust him to face the LH bats. But when Chamberlain is your setup guy, you gotta go more situational.

A-Rod will get number 3,000 tonight against Justin Verlander. Should be interesting to see. Not sure if anyone really cares or not.

I will be. I kind of wonder how Verlander pitches him. Does he even pitch to him at all? Dyson just pitched inside on A-Rod and got the crowd to chant "A-Hole" at him.

As far as I'm concerned, about 2,200 of his hits are tainted, so I could give a rat's ass.
