Volquez turned around his career last year at Pittsburgh. Known for resurrecting pitchers, the Pirates helped Edinson improve his pitches. Shields started the year on fire, one of the best in the NL. Ventura is getting unlucky up to a point. A 400 babip in high leverage is like... unsustainable en sech. At the same time though, he really should have been using his curveball and changeup more- not using them just makes his fastball play down; and allows hitters to sit on the fastball.
