Fountain City Blues
Love Everybody
It's not like his fellow Tigers fans went so far as to BOO him today.I love that you continue to give Verlander a pass after nearly a year and a half of crappy pitching.

Being happy with 60% of an aces production doesn't make it the same though.
Volquez pitches less innings. With less Ks and a higher ERA and WHIP. The innings drop off being the most important. And what I based my post from several days ago off. An excellent bullpen is great, but 40-50 extra innings of work will matter.
he is still stretching out. his season is just starting.still he would be ACE of royals starting staffIt's not like his fellow Tigers fans went so far as to BOO him today.
Verlander wouldn't make our roster at this point.he is still stretching out. his season is just starting.still he would be ACE of royals starting staff
ooo how soon you forget how he used to break one off in you.
he will be back on top. maybe 2016..ot maybe this year in play offs.
but that fear you have deep down is still there
I hope they buy, the rest of the division's GM's hope they do too I bet. Then the Tigers better starting getting quality pitching outside of Price asap.

Morales was a great signing, but he doesn't help Volquez go deeper into games. Is it if the remaining monies are reinvested to say Morales and Madson? Food for thought. The Rios deal sucks out loud, but they have kind of hit jackpot on a lot of these signings for the most part.
Yes, but the finer things in life cost money, no?Morales was a great signing, but he doesn't help Volquez go deeper into games.
I made a comment on starting pitching and a DH is now involved....
Shields is a Padre, what he's doing this year has nothing to do with Volquez. And Volquez isn't going 227 innings this season.Volquez - 19 starts 112 inn, Shields 20 starts 121 inn, this year, no difference in rotation with either one. We statistically aren't missing Shields one bit. KC didn't lose anything in that switch. The rest of the rotation's, that was the same as last year, injuries are mattering more.
KC didn't have a problem with the pen innings last season and actually added Hochevar and Madson, KC's bullpen is deeper than last year, their scrub unit is better than most teams pens.
Sure, of course it does.Yes, but the finer things in life cost money, no?
Signing pitchers to long term deals. Gotta love it.

That Sano injury may be a blessing.
Get Arcia up here. Let him mash for a few days.
Then Sano comes back and we roll with both the mashers.
