Fountain City Blues
Love Everybody
A) attendance is up ~10k a game. That's more money.
1a) playoffs = extra money
1b) league leading ratings
B) Guthrie is below replacement value at this point, I am counting down until we can hopefully DFA him in the next two weeks
C) Holland likely is traded, for what I won't speculate. Recent history would suggest something decent though
D) Hochevar is still around you know- losing Madson is not the end of the world; though I'd like to keep him
E) Collins and Rios are gone and non-assets. Both are terrible.
F) Manaea, Almonte, Zimmer, and a suddenly more potent Lamb are in the farm system. I would bet not a single cent is spent on filling the rotation.
G) You know Moore's track record with relievers in general? That's just about the one thing he has almost always consistently made due with
H) F. Morales isn't even good- just stop. There are many many loogies to be had.
I) It's not even a guarantee they lose Gordon, the market's record for primarily defense based players is terrible. And the groin won't help his case.
J) Why is hard liner contact to left flukey? High babip sure but it won't go all the way back to his career norms. Still an asset either way if he even hits 260 with his defense.
K) Dyson was a 2+ fWAR in the OF last year. We could do absolutely nothing and upgrade RF.
L) Ventura a reliever? Ok... His problem is bad luck and inconsistent command. If it was a turn issue, it would have showed up his rookie year. Finnegan is the guy you're looking for- and I wouldn't be shocked to see him traded in a week or so. Forgive me if I don't take you seriously after Archer.
You pulled this card in 2013. It's still bullshit two years later. I am sure this will be much more amusing when I get home and take the time to actually check the payroll figures. They have plenty of trade avenues if they want. And given Moore's recent trade history, I am ok with that. I do know they are around 116M now. Holy shit though, a Tigers fan talking shit about resigning people when Price can very easily leave for the Cubs? Ditto with Cespedes- good luck. Shove it down your pipe and just pray you aren't the Phillies 2.0.
My guess is the 2016 rotation is something like Medlen, Volquez, Vargas, Ventura, Duffy to start. Lamb, Manaea, and Zimmer possibly being factors as the season goes on.
