A) attendance is up ~10k a game. That's more money.
1a) playoffs = extra money
1b) league leading ratings

B) Guthrie is below replacement value at this point, I am counting down until we can hopefully DFA him in the next two weeks

C) Holland likely is traded, for what I won't speculate. Recent history would suggest something decent though

D) Hochevar is still around you know- losing Madson is not the end of the world; though I'd like to keep him

E) Collins and Rios are gone and non-assets. Both are terrible.

F) Manaea, Almonte, Zimmer, and a suddenly more potent Lamb are in the farm system. I would bet not a single cent is spent on filling the rotation.

G) You know Moore's track record with relievers in general? That's just about the one thing he has almost always consistently made due with

H) F. Morales isn't even good- just stop. There are many many loogies to be had.

I) It's not even a guarantee they lose Gordon, the market's record for primarily defense based players is terrible. And the groin won't help his case.

J) Why is hard liner contact to left flukey? High babip sure but it won't go all the way back to his career norms. Still an asset either way if he even hits 260 with his defense.

K) Dyson was a 2+ fWAR in the OF last year. We could do absolutely nothing and upgrade RF.

L) Ventura a reliever? Ok... His problem is bad luck and inconsistent command. If it was a turn issue, it would have showed up his rookie year. Finnegan is the guy you're looking for- and I wouldn't be shocked to see him traded in a week or so. Forgive me if I don't take you seriously after Archer.

You pulled this card in 2013. It's still bullshit two years later. I am sure this will be much more amusing when I get home and take the time to actually check the payroll figures. They have plenty of trade avenues if they want. And given Moore's recent trade history, I am ok with that. I do know they are around 116M now. Holy shit though, a Tigers fan talking shit about resigning people when Price can very easily leave for the Cubs? Ditto with Cespedes- good luck. Shove it down your pipe and just pray you aren't the Phillies 2.0.

My guess is the 2016 rotation is something like Medlen, Volquez, Vargas, Ventura, Duffy to start. Lamb, Manaea, and Zimmer possibly being factors as the season goes on.

Which young hungry BP fireballers where available to sign for said money? You can't trade for guys that other teams don't want to trade... you act like its so easy to just go out and get guys.. first they have to be available... second you have to have what the other team wants...
LOL @ letting Price walk.. if the consensus was the Tiger's were going to resign him you would be mouthing off about how much of a contract he is going to sign and how it would be the worst contract ever...

He let Porcello go? He traded him.. for a guy that made the same amount of money.... so how did he save money off Porcello again?

DD made a career off winning the 2003 WS and making it to the WS in 2006 and 2012.... you really do look like a clown with the gibberish you post.

You literally post stuff without using any actual factual basis... I don't even know how you come up with the crap you post... Seriously... Tiger's can't afford to keep good players? The only major player they let walk was Scherzer... and they offered him 150 mil... Price isn't gone yet.. and the Tigers have plenty to spend to keep him if they want to make an offer...

Yes, no fireball relievers have been available the last 3 seasons, they all have been locked up with Verlander type contracts with other teams. Jesus, RP are available all the time, guys like Andrew Miller, K-Rod, David Robertson, Soriano, Neshek, Gregerson, oh and Benoit. oh, all fact FA's, didn't even need to trade for them, Tigers couldn't afford them I guess at least Benoit.

Porcello? 12.5m is the same as 10.5m? thought you were a fact guy? and everyone knew that he would get paid including DD. He did but Det wasn't going to, they wanted Simon and Greene instead of Max and Porcello, good choice by DD.

Good GM's with Miggy and an open checkbook could have got a Ring. GM's that got rings without Miggy are 1st on the list, Gm's who made postseasons without Miggy throw them on next.

Let Benoit walk, Peralta walk, traded Fielder away because of too much money. they helped Tigs get to the post season, come on, you think the Tigers can buy everyone but they obviously continue to buy the wrong pieces, Coke, Simon, Nathan

  • I never said Simon would dominate.. thats a total lie
  • I never said Greene would be one of the best pitchers in the AL another lie
  • I said Kyle Ryan would help the tigers out of the pen... which he did.. he isn't a MLB starter
  • I never said Ferrell would help the bullpen this year... another lie... I spoke of him and Verhagen in a future perspective.. as both are still very young.... you are taking casual conversation about a couple of early 20's pitchers as if I said they were going to be major players this year.. sad bums.. even for you.
  • Hernan Perez has hit .338 for the Brewers in 33 games.. he is solid...
  • Moustakas has batted .143 in july and is down to .297 BA... with just 32 RBI
  • Castellanos has batted .304 in july and has 38 RBi... hmmmm... lets just see where these stats end up shall we?
  • Hardy is good... why you would even put that in your list of lies is kind of funny...
Say what you want bums... but you can not say I don't know baseball... I can provide facts to my arguments... You rarely can. I make predictions.. yes... and many come true... some don't... funny that you have to take things I say out of context or just plain ol make it up to try to make yourself look smart...

To bad you come off looking like the clown you are.
bums lies.....then when his royals choke he makes excuses.....

arguing about rotations with a Tigers fan is just stupid. The Tigers had arguably the best rotation in the majors for 2 seasons, no rings. Best rotations have proved to not be the winning approach and that is with the best damn hitter in the game to help them.

SF good rotation, GOOD pen and an MVP hitter, winnners.

Do I get to point out Rios is hitting over 300 for the past two weeks if Moose is hitting around 150? I think I do. SSS fun, everyone!

price and then verlander....we could be looking to sweep the Os...
then the Mariners come in to Comerica park.
that's a lot of games in the standings made up in a short time.

I can sense fear in royal nation

Royals somehow won again and kept the best record in the AL going despite all of Factman's "facts". Royals even have a better record at this point in the season, than last year without Shields.

Heart was seen last post season as well as it was seen which team also fell apart, come on doug, get on the fire DD bandwagon, he killed your team.

I just heard announcers on Cle-Cin game say the Tigers are 29-41 when David Price does not start.

The Royals starting pitching will bite them at some point.. whether it is in the last few months of the season for the division or in the playoffs in a 7 game series.. my bet is its sooner rather than later.

So what your baseball IQ tells you,

"between now and the end of the season, you will have some starting pitchers get beat in some important games"

Yes, the Royals starting pitching bit us last year too, they only won 3 instead of 4, Shields was the one who choked, lol, but we got rid of that bastard.

ROFLMAO- guess what, all teams but 1 that will happen to. Like I said, throw enough predictions out and bound to be right on a few. You like the little ol' lady sitting at the same slot machine for a month when she finally says "I won". Another great prediction fact man.

dear Don,

You gave Ausmus this bullpen after downgrading your SPs. How do you expect Ausmus to manage pitchers for 9 innings, should he list today's starter with the starter that will come in for him in the 5th for 2 games, then run Price and only 2 of the pen worth a dam. Concede game 4, then run it again on a 4 game rotation? At least they will stop conceding 2 to 3 games a rotation.

Yep, I am ok with a great bullpen over great rotation, at least we get to win the games we are winning. Giving up game after game of great sp performances just eats at the soul of a team. Can see why there isn't heart, again DD's fault

Hughes can't go a start without allowing a homer. It's actually impossible.

Wow. 9th inning comeback.

Then Perkins finally blows a save on fluke bullshit.

And Casey fucking Fein loses yet another game

Look on the bright side. This last outing by Fien could mean management looks to add a reliever, or at the very least, decides Casey is not ready to pitch major league baseball anymore...
