Way I see it is he'll be seeing pitchers he hasn't really seen before, or at least not as much, so any park/league advantage Upton gets is going to be pretty minimal. Mountains out of molehills and what not.

Maybe protection is a factor if you're into that, but that's not what was being discussed.

When it comes down to it... Moving from the NL to the AL has little to no effect on hitters... It effects ERA of pitchers because they deal with a DH instead of a pitcher... That is what the entire point of the argument was. Saying it is harder to hit in the AL vs the NL is completely incorrect. There may be some adjustment to seeing new pitchers.. but the same can be said for players that move from one division to another and have to see more of certain teams.
