I would have to check with doug - but I wonder if Sunday's loss coupled with the loss of Castellanos for 4-5 weeks and the loss of Zimmermann for who knows how long....could indicate the start of a downward spiral by Detroit?

I think we can make do with the injuries we have right now, especially with the way JD has stepped up since he came back. We can't afford anymore though. As long as Sanchez keeps pitching like he has, we should leave Zimmerman on the side to completely heal up

JD has come back strong, and Sanchez has been surprisingly reliable for four starts now (3.12 ERA, and lasted at least 6 IP in every start). But I agree, the DL shuffle has to stop for the Tigers to continue to contend for the postseason.

Problem that 'almost' went away, until Castellanos went down, is the bottom 3 in the batting order. ESPECIALLY if Maybin is going to miss 3-4 games every couple of weeks. McGehee, McCann, and Iglesias is not much of a threat. Adding Collins, Aviles, or Romine (if Maybin is out again/still) does not add anything.
