Well, it probably doesn't help that their ace has a 4.09 ERA over the last two months (it's 9/29, I can say "two months" now), and most recently got his lunch eaten by a weak hitting Blue Jays team.

True and that is the only thing I would be a little concerned about.

The rest of the team? Not really. Just a bad week of baseball after a great 3 weeks. It happens.

Why Nats over Cubs? Not saying you're wrong, just curious. Cubs have played really well since ASB. Here are the two teams' NL ranks in the second half:

Stat - Cubs' Rank/Nationals' Rank

RS - 1st/9th
BA - 2nd/9th
OBP - 1st/13th
SLG - 1st/8th
OPS - 1st/10th

Team ERA - 3rd/1st
Stater ERA - 1st/3rd

Yep. I would catch Romine when Gray pitches. So much movement on his pitches. Not sure you want Gary catching him in the playoffs.
