Noggin just can't learn about Guppy hitting leadoff. Why not just phone in this game?

Haren is VERY hittable. Gotta get to him early, and get into the Doggies' pen.

Scoring early and Guppy leading off are mutually exclusive.

Yeah, yeah. I love being wrong when I am doubting Giants' players.

But Guppy had been 4-28 this year when leading off a game. Hitting 1st or 2nd, he is hitting .170

Hitting 5-8 he is hitting .280

So it makes perfect sense for him to hit leadoff.

BTW, for his career, Guppy is hitting .156 when leading off a game, with a .243 OBP. Prototypical leadoff hitter.
