I have to stop the no game thread today. Giants up 3-0 on Rockies. Moore pitching well and Panik having a nice game so far.

Of course it matters, it matters for the 1st pick! But, yes, I agree, play the kids, what few are on the roster. Pence is in there because he was 11 for his last 21 at bats going into today.

There's Panik and Parker. They are both in their 20s. That's youthful!

All the Giants prospects who would be pkaying in this situation are hurt.

For today’s lineup, the only starter I would apply to your rant is Pence over Mac (maybe Jones over Sandoval). The org doesn’t like Mac. There has to be a reason that is not disclosed.

Other than that, the org knows what they have with the rest of the “kids” on this roster.

had to come back a little early today - sparsely populated ball park, but at least giants fans outnumber rocky fans (we were overrun with the dogs last homestand).... moore looked great, no real stupid errors, panik's on a roll.

PQS is a good metric for that. It summarizes each start into a single number, than you can analyz the breakdown of the values.

Maybe I will run the PQS values of the Giants starts this year sometime.
