Wait a sec, giants only had two less hits but lost by 11 runs!!! Something is amiss. Plus didn’t we sign Chapman for his fielding, but has 3 errors in two games :ohwell:

This is what a young and athletic team looks like, right?

Giants were 4-10 with RISP

And scored only 3 runs

Can't make this stuff up. Too slow.

How long can we say this is a SSS? The season is 21% finished.
Let’s look at the “starters” on this team to see how shocked we all are at the team speed…

Flores - molasses
Wade - average speed at best
Estrada - slightly above average?
Ahmed - may have “speedy” earlier in his career, but not now
Chapman - see “Ahmed”
Yaz - maybe slightly above average
Lee - somewhat legit speed
Conforto - slightly below average
Bailey - decent speed, FOR A CATCHER
Fitzgerald - legit speed, but he basically never plays
Murphy - no speed, no play
Slater - he is never on base anymore, so hard to tell. I put him in the “above average” group.

You REALLY want to make a “SSS” argument for this teams lack of speed?

Apparently, Murphy felt a “pop” on the wild pitch. That sounds like an ACL/PCL/UCL type injury, meaning he is likely done for the year.

Good thing FZ decided to punt on Bart.

Oh boy. Sounds like Reetz will be up for a couple of days until the Giants go fishing on some dude playing elsewhere in AAA. Hey, the Pirates may soon have a surplus of catchers.

Bart is sucking again, so that punt was a good one.

Actually even though our signings so far have not been pretty, at least there was an attempt. And it is still kinda early so maybe we still have a chance at 91 wins. Plus the guys we didn’t resign are not doing any better except maybe Pedersen.

As oddly good as the ’21 team was, the second half of ‘16 was equally shockingly bad. I am still waiting for the tell all book about that season to come out.
Whoa talk about a big seller LOL

When they start putting football numbers on you it might be time to re think what you are doing.

So we should have kept 3 catchers on the roster?
I didn’t really see the need in signing Murphy, tbh. Was he really that much of an upgrade over Bart?

Though, to be fair, subbing in Bart for Murphy, still only leaves 3 MLB catchers in the org. And who could have foreseen both Bailey and Murphy going down in successive days (with Murphy’s POTENTIALLY being serious).

I agree on not signing Murphy, I was ok just going with Sabol. And Bart had no more options.

It can’t take Webb100 pitched to complete 4 innings. Gotta be more efficient than that
