Yesterday's game was labeled a "must-win" because 'shaw is on the bump for the smurfs today. Well, with the, ehem, "loss", yesterday, we no longer have the luxury of tipping the cap to the games best pitcher. We have to lock in and beat him. Pure and simple.

Tall order, no doubt, but it is possible. Biggie needs to continue his hot pitching (no more than 2 runs in 6 innings, and that may not even be enough) and the bats need to wake up from their one-night nap.

17-0 is bad, but we did not burn a single legit bully arm, and most of the starters got rest. Further, 0-17 = 0-1, and that is all that REALLY matters. The series is still tied. If we win today, we are 1 back, which is what we wanted coming into the series. If we lose, we are 3 back, and the division, while not mathematically out of reach, is realistically out of reach.

If we do lose, Boch can use the rest of the season to test the bully to see who gets the last few open slots for the post season. Does Timmeh get a spot, or does Strickland get it? I think Strickland needs to get into at least 1 stressful situation before he gets a spot, but I think he ultimately gets the spot. There is no way Timmeh can be trusted with a post-season seat. Also, belt needs to get some time in-game to get his timing down. If he is 85% going into the payoffs, that would be HUGE.
