I wish I could comprehend this power outage from our batters.

I haven't looked it up (and probably won't), but over our last say 25 games, I'll bet Bumgarner, Vogelsong, and Hudson have more homers than our everyday players.

Since the Nats series, the Giants have played 23 games, and hit 13 homers: 7 solo homers, 3 two run, 1 Earl Weaver Special, and 2 Salamis.

Team slugging after the Nats series was .415, and now is at .405.

In those 13 games, the slash line is .249/.313/.355

Yeah, there has been an acute power shortage.

After a 6 pitch 1st inning, Peavy gives up a solo homer to JUP. Is a one run deficit too much to overcome?

On the season, the Giants are 53-24 when scoring 1st (.688)

They are only 19-44 when not scoring 1st (.302)

I do wonder about how many runs Kelly has cost us as the 3B Coach, in contrast to Flannery. Kelly has gotten better over the season, but has alternated between being too conservative and too aggressive, with the emphasis on the conservative end. That one was too aggressive, unless EA ran a red light.

Evenin', Phlap.

Posey had 103 RBI in 2012, his only season with over 100. This year will be close. He's 17 away with 23 more to play after tonight.

As much of a die-hard that I am, I hope the day we are mathematically eliminated, that Posey won't play after that. Unless it's at some new experimental position for him...

I always remebered Kemp being a much better middle-away hitter, when he was a young Dodger. That heat graphic surprised me, showing all is hot zones everywhere but middle-away.

Peavy staying true to his numbers so far. He's been an EXCELLENT pitcher the first two times through the order. All of his ERA is coming from being left in for a 3rd time around the lineup. I'll be interested to see is Boch finally realizes this.

edit: awkward wording

Adrianza's timing mechanism bothers me. He always double-taps his glove, almost no matter what. I don't recall ever seeing him bare hand a play. I do recall a play where his only option was to bare hand the ball, but he still gloved it. I also recall a play against the Cubs where he did his double-tap on a routine groundball with a fast runner and the guy ended up beating the throw.

This just in, Adrianza bothers me.

Pitcher...

Would like to have see Panda pitch, with that bazooka of an arm he has. Woulda been a good show, hopping around with all his idiosyncrasies.

Now, barring a miracle, that the Giants are out of the race, I hate seeing Byrd up there. I just keep imagining his $8M going down the drain this offseason.
