Funny, just last week Herbstreit said ND is in if it wins out. Now he's got us sixth? How's that for credibility.

what more do u want? just asking.

I do not believe the Big12 is out. If we win out, our best win will be against a 3 loss USC team or a 3 loss Stanford team. If Oklahoma state is undefeated, or Oklahoma has wins against a 1 loss Baylor and a 1 loss Oklahoma state, I think they may pass us.

Roll footage of the Texas game and it makes it much more difficult to put Oklahoma ahead of Notre Dame. Also Baylor aren't that good especially with a true freshman QB.

ND wins out and ND is in the playoffs. Pac 12 and Big 12 will be left out. Still a lot that could happen within the top 4 but ND is in if they win

Pac12 is out with Stanford and Utah or USC with 2 and 3 losses. If UCLA can beat Utah and then USC wins out they would play for the title against Stanford.

I agree, the Texas game is why I always thought Oklahoma was never a threat to us. But listening to people talk about Oklahoma is starting to worry me. I heard someone yesterday say that Oklahoma is playing better than anyone in the country, and compared their game against Texas to Ohio State's game versus Virginia Tech. if they close out with wins against Baylor and Okie State, (and Stanford looks like crap) there is no telling what they will do.

Saying "they're playing better than anyone in the country" is dead air filler talking heads throw around as a cliche. I've heard that phrase applied to a different team every week.

True, but it's the first time I've heard it said about Oklahoma. And I bet we don't hear it said any more about Stanford, and that's my concern.

Oklahoma has no shot. U do know who they lost to. They lost to Texas who we killed. Sooners have no shot to make it. Baylor was the Big12 best chance. OSU almost lost to a very bad team. They are done.

I hope you're right, but I think Stanford did more to hurt our chances than anything. I think if Oklahoma wins out, our best chance might be Michigan winning the Big10 and being left out of the playoff or NC beating Clemson.

One last point, I think last year proved that the quality of the wins is more important than the quality of the losses. Oklahoma (if they win out) might have wins against 3 one loss teams. Our best wins will be against two 3 loss PAC 12 teams (no offense to Navy).

Not going to happen. Oklahoma Still plays TCU and OSU that would put TCU at 2 losses and OSU at 1 loss, plus Baylor still plays both TCU and OSU so they will only have a win against 1 one loss team not three it just isn't possible if Oklahoma wins out.

Their best wins will still be much better than ours. And I think quality wins are more important than quality losses. But again, I hope you are right.

I agree. We can't control anything after that. These last 2 years just proved that a 8 team playoffs is necessary so teams who went undefeated or had 1 L does not get left out.

We all need to become USC fans. They now control their own destiny in the PAC 12 South. If they win out they make the conference title game which would be huge for us especially if they can win that game

I am right they can't have 3 wins over one loss teams because they are all playing one another. Also look at who these teams played to build up their resumes, no one, they aren't great teams, hell they aren't even very good teams, just good teams. It's all going to play out in the end.

I think if we truly want to feel the safe, the following things must happen.

1) Florida loses to FSU and Bama loses to either Auburn or Florida which would likely give us the inside track on a playoffs spot over the SEC champ.

2) Okie State must lose a game. Root for TCU to beat Oklahoma. I think if OU goes 11-1 with wins over Baylor, Okie State, & TCU they get in ahead of us.

3) Root for all the solid teams we beat this year to win out the rest of the year. If that happens Navy would finish 11-1, USC 10-3, Pitt 9-3, and Temple 10-2.
