Always a split
Yep. Double headers are always a split. Except when they aren't.
Always a split
I would love a sweep but I'll take a split
You'd love an Indians sweep? Or did you forget that they won the first game?
No I didn't. I was talking strictly about the DH today. Not the 3 game series as a whole
Gotcha. That's most likely. Something like 85% of double headers result in a split.
I've noticed recently that teams have been switching out their scheduled starters for the second game with some kind of long reliever. I believe Tomlin was supposed to start today's game, but when yesterday got rained out, they switched it to Merritt.
I don't understand that.
Yankees too
CC schedule day, but Montgomery gets the start
I guess it was just to get CC in the Sox series
But not like all these games aren't pretty important
2nd most accurate post you've madeYep. Double headers are always a split. Except when they aren't.

Not sure what that has to do with what I said.Jigga please.
I've posted dozens of comments about the Indians owning Sale.

I disagree. Your post was 100% accurate so there can't be posts that are more accurate.Well, they're dozens of examples of more accurate posts.

Yeah, but that doesn't explain what the doubleheader has to do with it. The Yankees knew they were playing the Sox, if they wanted Sabathia in that series, why didn't they have Montgomery scheduled for today's game regardless?
What is it about a double header that leads to these moves?
Totally
Girardi being a dumbass is the only explanation
Sale has nearly 2 more WAR than everyone else in the AL (including position players; Altuve's at 6.1). Kluber's the closest to him among AL pitchers and there's a gap of 2.4 wins. Just give him the MVP.

it's an award for the best pitcher in the league, not the best pitcher on a division winner. Kluber's the only pitcher remotely close to Sale in any categories and he has like 23 fewer innings. If the Sox don't hold the division lead, he might not even get the CY.
