There's a positive spin on it.

I remember in 95 Randy Johnson seemed to be inserted in every late inning regular season game in late September and every late inning postseason game

One of the most remarkable things I've ever seen in baseball

From July until the end of the year, they went 15-1 in games started by him. Ridiculous. And he was already 31 at that point.

Ridiculous, and if memory serves right, they went into the final weekend tied with the Angels I think it was, and he pitched in every one of those games that weekend (didnt start every one obviously)

And than against the Yankees in that 5 gamer, he was just that guy getting warm in the pen that scared you like no one else, and of course in the clinching game, he got the win out of the pen

Not sure why that guy popped in your head, but no that is incorrect. I'll reveal the answer in a few minutes.

Baseball reference USED TO have him as a Pedroia comparison. Not no more!

Looking it up, they were up 3 games on the Angels with 5 to play. They ended up going 2-3 and the Angels reeled off 5 in a row to force a deciding Game 145. He wasn't pitching every day, but pitched that final game on 3 days rest and threw a complete gamer, giving up a solo shot and that's it. Then pitched Game 3 on 3 days rest when they were down 0-2, came back 2 days later to throw 3 innings in relief in Game 5.

3 win or go home games in a span of 6 days. 19 innings, 3 runs, 28 strikeouts, 7 walks, 8 hits. Mariners went 3-0 and he got the win in all 3.

The answer is Luis Castillo in 2000. 101 runs scored, 17 RBI.

Really, the only way we can go anywhere is if Sale can win game 1 and 5 and they can scrap a win in between. Beginning of the season I picked them to lose in the ALDS so if they go further than that, they've exceeded my expectations.

Id have a hard time seeing a Sale blow up, but as we have seen, losing a 1-0 game in the postseason is mighty possible

wow thats a quick about face:suds:

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports that the Twins are "fielding calls" on Ervin Santana and Jaime Garcia.

Minnesota could also move second baseman Brian Dozier and closer Brandon Kintzler ahead of Monday's trade deadline. Santana, a 2017 American League All-Star, boasts a 3.37 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 104/47 K/BB ratio in 136 1/3 innings this season and he leads all MLB pitchers with three shutouts. The 34-year-old right-hander is due $13.5 million in 2018 and he carries a $14 million vesting option for 2019.

I didn't mean to say he's not still "owned" , more that I wouldn't go into the game expecting a loss, simply because it's the Indians. Not the way he's pitching right now.

Fair enough.

Conversely, if I got to pick a team for the Indians to face in a potential ALCS, it'd be the Red Sox because of their history against Sale and Price's history of laying giant, steamy shits on the pitching rubber in big games.
