This may have been addressed somewhere else, and if so, I apologize.....but has anyone else noticed the Dudgers schedule that gave them Monday and Thursday off this week, as well as this coming Monday? 3 days off in a 7 day span? That is crap........Those guys are soft, though.....they need it. Lol
Everyone has to play 162. Everyone (should) has a tough stretch and an easy stretch.

I know.....just caught me off guard seeing 3 off days in an 8 day period. Probably bound to happen with all the stupid 2 game "series" mixed in these days.

Off the top of my head, the elite 1B are probably...

AGone
Goldy
Rizzo
Pujols (??)
Tex (??)
Abreu (??)

I think Belt is probably a decent step behind these guys, but will certainly pass up Tex and Pujols by next year.

After you get past the elite, Goldy, Votto, Rizzo, it drops off. Not sure how long Tex, Pujols and A-Gon will keep this up. I think all around, Belt is up there, but a planet away from the top 3.

Belt has pretty much hovered around these numbers for a while now, I'm thinking this is what he is. So the question I want to ask is, is this alright? Around .275/.350/.490, on pace for 23 homers and 80 RBI, with great defense and the ability to play LF in a pinch. Is that what we want to invest in?

Those numbers are very similar to what J.T. Snow put up, and he was adored as a Giant.

(Random I know, but it just came to me)

Just not true sfg. You're not the only one who has said this though.
Compare:

Snow: Career 105 OPS+; 11.0 WAR (1997 he had 135 OPS+ and in 2004 3.3 WAR)
Belt: Career 127 OPS+; 12.0 WAR (2013 139 and 4.2)

Belt is much better already than Snow ever was, save his one excellent year in 2004. Snow doesn't have the power. Also, Belt is 27 and just now entering his prime, and he's already accumulated more WAR in 5 seasons than Snow did in his 16 year career.

It's really not close.

To be fair, the Cards pitchers are the best against RISP in the Majors by a pretty good margin. That is worth noting.

Thanks for pointing that out. I just glanced at the numbers, particularly at the 6 season run from 1995-2000 and it looked solid (110 OPS+ average).

Well, J.T. Snow was adored, and Belt has better numbers. It's not the fan's call, but the question is all the same. Do we invest in him? We'll after bring this back up in December/January.

Posey is a little out of sorts. The pitching staff is working him too much, not enough time for hitting.

For a guy with next to zero experience in the OF, he has looked OK when played out there. Maybe they look to move him out there on a more permanent basis?

If he were a FA this coming off season, would he get a QO?

Posey the only starter without a hit tonight.

Craw and Specks the only starters not contributing to the scoring.

I wanted the Giants to eventually move Posey to 1st, Belt to LF and Susac as the everyday catcher in the off-season, and while my stance has softened a bit, I still wouldn't be opposed. With a full off-season working at it, I'm sure he'd be a pro. Boch could move guys around all he wants, and keep everyone fresh, including Pagan.

I just realized EA is in for Specks (happened in the 7th). Why?

According the MLB app, the high pitch WAS a strike, but so was ball 4.

Cuzzi strikes again.
