Not counting today…Anyone know his updated stats since coming back from AAA?
It is on our team anyway. In todays MLB, that is contending for a batting title
If he gets to .250 that would be an awesome recovery. It is on our team anyway.
He's getting his numbers up. .270 before the season is over.
I think he's at .300 now since his returnIf he gets to .250 that would be an awesome recovery.
.500 over the last seven.I think he's at .300 now since his return
@calsnowskier can update the number for since his return.500 over the last seven.
Anyone can look it up on BBRef. I am not the only one who has access to it.@calsnowskier can update the number for since his return
Honestly I didn't know where/how to look it up. Can you post the link?Anyone can look it up on BBRef. I am not the only one who has access to it.
Go to Bart’s BBRef page, select game logs for 2022, then highlight the time period you are interested in. A pop up will appear with summarized numbers for that timeframe.Honestly I didn't know where/how to look it up. Can you post the link?
A tell of two seasons for him. Its almost as if the full seasons numbers tell the real story. He's not as bad as his early season suggests but his current BABIP says that he's probably not as good as he looks right now. Still, I think he can do better, overall, in 2023 than he has this year. But…
.314 since coming back.
BUT BUT…
.415 BABIP. He has been scalding the ball, so I think his BABIP should naturally be a bit higher, but that is a ridiculous number.
What was his first day back?Go to Bart’s BBRef page, select game logs for 2022, then highlight the time period you are interested in. A pop up will appear with summarized numbers for that timeframe.
Looking at his game logs, he missed most of June, shows back up on July 6 (or there abouts)What was his first day back?
I'm not quite there but am close. I think I still hang on to BA for sentimental reasons (I like the triple slash and putting in OPS as the third slash is a bit redundant). I do usually go with PA versus AB now.Back to talking about Bart…
Before he went down, his problem was striking out. Pre-send down, he had 49 Ks in 108 PA. Since coming back, he has K’d 28 times in 90 PAs
unrelated…
Am I the only one who has completely abandoned BA and ABs in favor of OBP/SLG/OPS and PA?
BA is a relatively less important stat. It ignores hit quality (power). If he gets to .250 that would be an awesome recovery.
Yep. An informal calculation of the number of Unearned Runs given up by Team (a pretty objective bottom line, IMHO) shows the leaders as of 8/15 are:The Gs defense has KILLED them this year. I think it has hurt Rogers really bad as well.
Errors is only one metric. But I refer more to the non-error plays-not-made. Letting the bloop fall, allowing the trail runner to advance, not turning 2, etc.Yep. An informal calculation of the number of Unearned Runs given up by Team (a pretty objective bottom line, IMHO) shows the leaders as of 8/15 are:
Cubs 65
CWS 61
SFG 60
By contrast:
NYY 19
STL 21
LAD 38
OPS is up to .727...he could make .800 by end of year.BA is a relatively less important stat. It ignores hit quality (power).
More important is OPS, Moneyball notwithstanding.
