I'm just here to troll everyone
Back to the usual shitting, I mean hitting
Blevins comes in and does the exact same thing with the first two batters he faces as Gearrin. What's the odds we even get one run out of this inning?

And only a 1 run lead. With the way this team has played, one run is not even close to enough. Those two half innings started every similar but ended very differently. Don't like what that could bode.We do have 15 hits and 8 runs today, but you were right
Looks like we aren't the only team with a mid season acquisition struggling.Bruce with 3 Ks so far

I know you are being cheeky, but Smith has been awful since coming over. Including today, in 8 appearances, he's gone 4.7 innings, allowed 9 hits, 6 earned runs, 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Will Smiff needs to be DFA'd immediately. Cut your losses.
Guy obviously was a Dodgers fan growing up.
I don't understand tzill arguing Smith is a good reliever, unless he was being blinded by the fact that Susac was traded for him.
Thanks man. I needed to be brought back into reality. No, man, every other team's acquisitions are performing at a all-star level, while ours generally exhibit extreme svckitude.
Except both Chapman and Miller get outs regardless of the K or not. Smith is all or nothing. If the batter isn't striking out, he's getting on base. I'd rather have a guy who gets two ground outs and a fly out then a guy who gives up a single, strikes out a batter, followed by a double, another strike out and then a home run. And with the production that comes from Smith, I'd rather try out Okert and some minor league pick ups then giving up a couple of prospects for an "underpaid" pitcher. Before freaking out too violently, note that Smith is not a rental. He will be a man in orange and black through 2019. And that’s at below-market prices, at that. So you almost have to include the money saved. That’s money the Giants won’t have to pay for a left-handed reliever this offseason. You can apply that money to the next hot international prospect the Giants sign. Or the hot new free agent next offseason. Or ... okay, they’re probably getting Melky Cabrera back with the money, whatever, it’s not important. Just don’t forget that Smith is underpaid and probably will be for three more years.
He’s also pretty good. Look past the 3.68 ERA or 4.27 FIP. That’s in a sample of 22 innings. The three seasons before that, he was one of the best left-handed relievers in baseball when it came to missing bats. He struck out just over 12 batters for every nine-innings he pitched from 2013 through last season. The list of leaders in K/9 for left-handed relievers during that stretch goes like this:
So he’s a talented pitcher. He throws in the mid-90s, and while his control wavers, he can throw strikes around a league-average rate. All things being equal, I’d be thrilled to have him. For a substantial package, even.
- Aroldis Chapman (16.34)
- Andrew Miller (14.61)
- Will Smith (12.2)
I am being cheeky, but not THAT cheeky. I hated the trade when they made it due to what they gave up and I don't much like it now.I know you are being cheeky, but Smith has been awful since coming over.
