Just thought I'd float out what people thought of Beltre given he just retired and has to be the least talked about 3000 hit guy of my lifetime anyway. Just seems had he played for better Dodger teams or in NY/Boston he would be seen much differently. Was on a couple of really good Ranger teams I guess.

I mean, he is a clear HOFer… So I wont argue that part... I just think his offense is a bit compiler-y...

Clear HOFer… But I would go the opposite, I think his offense is very over-rated... Now, of course the overall player is based on defense too, and he is the 2nd Best defensive 3B of all time...

But just offensively, I think he is very over-rated...

I actually agree LOL. It seems like his homerun numbers have increased once in his 30's. Only one season 30+ homers in his first 13 seasons. The next 6 seasons he hit 30+ 4 times. His OBP, SLG and OPS is nothing to get excited about and you can't use the excuse of his numbers decreasing bc he has played 21 seasons. The longevity has actually helped his numbers. A HOF'r but he is overrated imo. His defense is underrated though.

Theres a computer baseball game I've played from time to time called Out of the Park baseball. I'm curious if one could import a big enough file to include a pool of a few thousand or so players and do a draft and then have the results simulated over a course of a season. That would be pretty interesting

There was someone on one of these forums that was going to do that, I think it was NBA and we had the mock but I don't think the OP ever followed through with it. I think it is a great idea.

I think we just lowered the HOF numbers bc of the 100 year span. We could have gone one RP HOF for sure, keep the SP's at 2. Why 6 SP?
