dumb

the only thing judge has in common with stanton is theyre tall.

and thats why the yankees held onto him...because a few bad scouts called him "giancarlo stanton all over again".

I think refusing to trade just about any prospect for legit MLB talent is fucking stupid.

Clearly, the Mets were TRYING to get Carlos Gomez, I don't doubt that for a second. But somebody jumped the gun and then everyone else ran with it, including the Mets' radio and TV announcers. Flores, god bless him, he really loves being a part of this team. I hope he stays. He has done everything the club has ever asked of him. Fuck that Tom Hanks bullshit chick-flick quote.

I heard the rumor that it was either because of Wheeler's arm, or Gomez's hip, that nixed the deal. No clue which one of those is possibly the reason, or if there ever was a deal that Wheeler was a part of.

Of course, Scott Boras is going to protect his client by saying he's 100% healthy, but logically, why would it have been Wheeler's health that scotched this deal at the last minute? He's already on the DL after a pretty serious TJ surgery and may not even pitch for another 12-18 months. You're going to tell me the Brewers looked at his medical chart and went, "oh no! This guy's too risky!"?? Wouldn't they have already known that?

Got it. Flores was crying while playing? That's precious. I'm going to send him a Hello Kitty backpack to console him.

I'm kinda starting to wonder now why the Mets didn't just send someone to tell Flores he wasn't being traded. Seems kinda Metsish now.

What the fuck are we talking about here? Link?

Not sure there is any one link that truly captures what happened, but basically there were a ton of media reports that the Mets had traded Wilmer Flores and Zack Wheeler to Milwaukee for Carlos Gomez.

Fans at Citi Field got the report through their phones, and gave Flores a standing O when he came to the plate in the seventh. When he got to the dugout, teammates told him he'd been traded. Since there was no deal, he wasn't taken off the field, and he was in tears when he went back out there for the eighth inning.

After the game, Sandy Alderson and Terry Collins both said there was no deal.

Collins did ask David Wright and Michael Cuddyer - who weren't particularly busy last night - to go and talk to him, and I'm guessing it was to calm him down and possibly tell him that there wasn't any deal.

Victor Martinez cried in the clubhouse after he was traded from the Indians, and I was touched because most players being traded out of Cleveland would have popped Champaign in the clubhouse like they'd just won the world series. It's nice to see that loyalty in a sport that seems so devoid of it.

That said, Wilmer Flores is not an Indian. So I think he's a bleeding pussy for crying.

This is true - I believe he is Hispanic.

David Wright: Look, Wilma, it's very sweet that you're sobbing like a nine year old girl who lost her favorite Build-A-Bear, but there was no deal. So, tighten up your training bra and get your ass out there and turn some DPs!

I only blame the Mets for the lack of communication between Alderson and Collins....Collins didn't even know why the kid was crying, Flores heard he was traded, and it wasn't even communicated to Collins, is how Im hearing it

Even worse, he's a commie-liking Venezuelan. Possibly a Hugo Chavez plant all along.

Uhhhh. I think you need to brush up on your geography there, Hu.

You see, there's a line that runs from the southern most point of Texas south to the southern most point of California. If you're from below that line and not from Florida, you're Mexican.

A story running in this morning's Urinal/Sentinel stated that the deal was nixed due to Wheeler failing a physical.

Felt bad for Flores but I would cry too if I was traded to the Brewers. They are shitty this year
