It isn’t how many games out. It is how many teams we gotta jump over. And this team just doesn’t have the ammo to have any faith it will happen.

Last seven days, we are second in OPS in the NL.

10 games or so ago, we were 7.5 games back. Now we are 5.5 games back.

If we can win at home, we will be right in it. If only we had some decent fans.

And "SELL" for what? To add more mediocre players to our already shitty minors?

I’m kinda disappointed in last nights game. Didn’t have double digits hits or runs. Pitcher didn’t have a quality start. And only one hitter had multiple hits (Belt with 3). But we won so that overcame the disappointment.

Sure. And have our already spotty attendance and viewership (aka revenue $) fall right through the floor. The owners will love that.

We'll see. If the team tanks the next 15 games, you may well be right. But if we go 8-7 or 9-6, and get to within 4, we'll be buyers instead of sellers.

But being the only guy who's right in a room full of folks that are wrong is not a new situation for me.

I'm not much for tolerating disloyalty, ignorance, or incessant pessimism, if that's what you're trying to say.

But it is wrong to think the Giants are making the playoffs this year. And that they should be buyers.

But what is your threshhold for turning them into buyers? Four back? Three? There should be a point. What is it for you?

Honestly, it is as much about how many teams are ahead of them as it is games back.

If they are one of say 4 teams with a shot at the 2nd WC, and say 3-4 games back, I might consider going for it. But if they are 4 games back with 8 teams in the mix, that's not very smart.

Agree re Cueto, I think he will be back and that could help if they are still trying. But over only 5-6 starts not much WAR to be had there.

And I think there is also the question of how good will Cueto be when he comes back. Will the rust be a problem or will he be in top shape right out of the gate?

What do you propose they buy with? Do you want them to ship Ramos out for an OFer? Would you be OK with a Bart trade?
