The lineup is pretty thin with injuries to guys like Estrada and Wade, a testament to the pitching that they are still winning without scoring a lot.The bottom 3 of this lineup have so much promise and yet so little value this year.
Agree 100%I think the whole "Slater needs to sit against righties" is overblown. For example, his slash against righties this year is .286/.359/.400. Don't get me wrong, he does better against lefties (.365/.441/.577) but his numbers against righties are hardly bad this year.
Last year, he hit .246/.350/.361 against righties. The year before that, he hit .171/.230/.267. I would suggest that he has improved on his ability to hit righthanders and should get more playing time.
Abbott is a hell of a pitcher, so I am not too upset with this dismal display by our hitters. That coupled with the walking MASH unit that we are right now makes this a very acceptable loss.1 hit so far woof
Got the split we expected
It does harken back to Ain't Havin It and Yadi.Abbott is a hell of a pitcher, so I am not too upset with this dismal display by our hitters. That coupled with the walking MASH unit that we are right now makes this a very acceptable loss.
And Bailey is DOMINATING with his arm. I am not sure I have ever seen anything like it before.
Just an irritating loss all the way around. I get that we can rationalize it with:At least AZ and SD lost today too
Just one of 70, they're all frustrating and also all normalJust an irritating loss all the way around. I get that we can rationalize it with:
1. Cobb has been excellent; bad starts happen
2. We're banged up, need to get healthy
3. Getaway day on a long roadie, guys are tired.
But damn, we had a good chance to take the series and Cobb just shat the mound. Might not have mattered as we weren't hitting anyway, but damn.
