well, this loss will be well deserved. Bum completely melted down after six stellar innings, Moronta walked in a run, and Crawford threw it away.

Losses like these hurt.
Why it was a.quality start.

The loss is on the offense scoring 2 runs in Colorado.

I partially agree, but that defense was unacceptable and coming in bases loaded and walking the first man also unacceptable. Blach is making it all moot now anyway.

Walking Arenado in that situation was probably a pre-approved acceptable outcome. At least I HOPE it was. 2-run lead and a certified, verified, amplified Giants killer at the plate.

The next batter was a GIDP (scoring the tying run, which sucked).

The next batter was a ground ball to the all-world defensive SS that was simply muffed.

Bum did fine (until the 7th) and Moronta came into a very shitty situation. The Giants aren’t perfect. Given that, that wasn’t a horrible inning from the pitchers.

Now why the Giants are simply incapable of hitting in Coors is beyond me.

Samardzija's box score after 6 innings - 5 hits, 2 runs (both earned & both solo home runs), 1 walk, 3 strikeouts, 90 pitches, 54 strikes.

I assume he's done for the night, and, considering how much better this looks than his last outing, I would guess he'll be activated this weekend.

I disagree: the odds are in our favor of getting him out (>50%). You can't walk him. You can't assume that the next batter is a GIDP, you have to get Arenado out. Say he hits a sac fly and then you DO get the GIDP...2-1 lead, and Craws error never happens.

Simply put: with a lead, you HAVE to go after Arenado there.

And when he gives up a hit, you start crying about incompetence (and incontinence).

Dude OWNS the Giants. Don’t intentionally walk him, but pitch around him. Which Moronta did.

Depends. If he gives up a meatball...then yes, I need depends.
If he makes a good pitch and Arenado gets a hit...I'm ok with that.
