Giving up another first inning run.

It is amazing to see the stats lately. When I left for Colorado, the Giants were something like -73 run differential. Now, they are -6.

Fast paced game.

The game in Colorado was very slow. Anderson worked rather quickly, but Gray was taking 30 seconds at least for every pitch.

I have been keeping a spreadsheet to track different things, like, you know. I noticed that in each of the wins in CO, the Giants got three walks in each game. Perhaps that's the secret in the second half. That and hitting the snot out of the ball.

Alonso is legit. He was in the Arizona Fall League last year, and did well. He has a ton of power. (Played on the Scottsdale team with the Giants' players).

This season, the AFL begins mid-September, and goes through the end of October. Better weather, and less of a break between the regular season and the AFL. Glad to see them experimenting. Alas, they are renovating Scottsdale and Surprise this year, so the six teams will play in four stadiums. That means night games every day except Sundays, when there are no games. Will link to the schedule when it comes out, perhaps around August 1st. You guys really ought to check it out sometime!
