By the same token, it could be said that is why Alabama plays cupcakes late in the year.............to avoid injury. Change the playoff to only conference winners and Alabama never pulls that none sense again.

That has nothing to do with the playoff structure. That is an argument for making every conference schedule 9 conference games. Alabama playing within the rules of their own conference has nothing to do with playoffs.

Exactly, because the post season is weighted greater than the regular season. Like every other sport, your resume during the season is thrown out in the playoffs. See, you do understand

As it should be.

wtf.....

Do you think Georgia or Clemson would have blown them out?

I don’t care, they played a whole schedule of games you’re complaining about Alabama playing 3 of, they had no business in the discussion.

I didn’t say it shouldn’t be. I said stop saying the reason not to have a playoff is because the “regular season matters”

The playoffs are perfect the way they are. 4 out of 5 conferences every year max, leaving SoS always to matter at least a little is awesome.

Conferences on the other hand need to be revamped badly.

True. Alabama isn't stupid. They are going to do everything within their power to make sure they make the playoff. Even if it means playing schools like Mercer, Freson St, Chatanooga. etc. etc.

That is why the system needs to be changed.

It matters because that's how you get to that point.

speaking of neutral sites, why is it that teams from the northern midwest are the only ones that bitch about where a game is played?

LSU had a blast going up to Wisconsin to play Wisconsin (yeah, Lambeau is legendary, but I would have gladly gone to Camp Randall (and Madison) as well

nobody fussed about how it wasn't neutral

our conference champ game is in Atlanta, not so neutral a lot of times (admittedly, we haven't been there in a while, but...)

i didn't see any miami fans whining about our game in texas

plenty of other examples too

As it is, revenue sharing is the way things go because giving money to teams like Vandy is actually beneficial to Alabama and other teams.
There are many that consider things like revenue sharing to be socialistic, communistic and welfareistic. But, that's a discussion for that deep dark place called the politics forum.

And when the system treats that shitty FCS win as anything other than a shitty FCS win, I might be inclined to agree with you.

Every conference has members that play FCS members, the Bama isn’t the only one gaming the system.

I'll say this much - in the end nobody is forced to participate and governments sole purpose is force.

There you go conveniently leaving out the Florida States and USCs again. I know they throw a wrench in your whole argument, but at least be honest. Again, you’re making a different argument here, has nothing to do with the playoff. Every conference but the Pac 12 has figured out how to give their top teams the best chance at success. That isn’t going to change based on how many playoff spots there are.

Fair. The question left is does this only apply to blue bloods or will any one loss team with a decent resume but no league title get the same treatment
You are dreaming. Wake up.

How is the PAC12 making it harder for their teams to make the playoffs rather than the Big12 who also plays a nine game conference schedule or the BigTen who also has a 9 game conference schedule, requires it’s teams to play a “P5” non conference opponent and limits the availability to playing FCS opponents?

Yeah but that's because they have series of games rather than single ones. If they were single, bet your ass they would be neutral as well.
True, but they still aren't decided on neutral site venues.
