Game is getting chippy. Burns with a bad hit on Morrow and then Demers hits Backes after an offsides whistle and Backes checks him from behind.

You gotta love this game.

Glad the Sharks scored on the PP, past shark teams don't get nothing.

A statement must be made 2nite.

Just reported that Boyle is alert and responsive at the hospital. No word on Morrow yet but it looked like he was favoring his shoulder.

Great job making them pay for taking stupid penalties.

Lapierre needs to be suspended indefinitely. You can kill a man doing what he did.

sharks played a fabulous game with only 5 D for basically the whole game. that's realllly tough against a physical, quick team like STL. They caught some breaks and it seemed like everything went it, but it was a real character win. nemo was spectacular, especially early on, so nice W in the first real test.

Hopefully boyler is OK, and thankfully stuery comes off his suspension next game, so he can step in, but that was so scary. We'll see how bad it is, but the sharks can afford to have him out for a little while here early on as long as he comes back fully strong and healthy later on. My thoughts are with danny...

Had to catch the rest of game on DVR.
Sharks lines have been relentless all night. Nice hustle on the Wingels goal. When Hannan scores, it means your goalie sucks. The secondary scoring just isn't stopping and all the lines deserve ice time. Credit to the coaching staff. All five skaters are moving as one right now on the ice. Nemo with another good game.

What a nice way to start the season. Sharks Win!

I was quite impressed with how well Demers did stepping into that 1st PP unit.

Yeah that was a real challenge to go 5 D for pretty much the entire game. Braun has really stepped up this season. This guy is solid in all areas. Braun stepped into Boyle's spot on the PP1 unit and didn't mess up. Very nice pairing Brauny Pickles.

Demers took Boyle's spot on the top unit. Braun and Irwin ran the points on the 2nd unit.

I swear I saw Braun on with PP1 unit in the 1st period.

edit: Braun was on PP1 for the closing PP in the 1st period. But you're right, Braun was PP2 the rest of the night.

If Boyle is out for any extended time, it is time to see what Demers can do in an expanded role. Boyle won't be here forever and if Demers can project into mini Boyle, it'd be great for the future of the team.

RH dmen: Braun, Demers
LH dmen: Pickles, Mueller
