Giants are now 11-15 in the opening games of series.

I remember that in 2010 that number who have been very similar in the final games of series. We were winning the first 2 but losing the 3rd, at least in the second half.

Oh, the big Giants got plenty of hits, just not with anyone on base.

Maybe they need to have BP with runners on base, just to see how that feels.

Yeah, I was just referring to the ineptitude of the bats right now.

Book on Puig, pitch him in.

Heard multiple people say that, CSN now doing a piece on it.

Just not a very good team right now.

Hitting is OK

Hitting with RISP is putrid

Starters are OK now

Bully svcks

Managing svcks. Bochy pushing all the wrong buttons, and even the right buttons are not responding.

Collar sizes are definitely shrinking.

Tomorrow could be the first time under .500 since opening day.

Hey, at least the opposing pitcher didn't get a hit!

Point taken, but when you sign a guy for $30+ plus to be your closer, you don't dump him in APril, though that would have been the right move.

I'm not sure they really signed League to be their closer. I think they were just signing someone they thought was a good relief pitcher. I remember people saying that Affeldt must've been thrilled to see the contract that League got because of what that meant for him. Also remember that Jansen was the closer last year and he was coming off a heart ailment at the end of last season. I thought they were just easing him back into the closer role, but then they didn't promote him back to closer until recently.

Nice to see the SP back on track, but we are garbage in every other category. Sabes and Boch are gonna need to shake some things up.

I'm glad Posey didn't get hurt on that play. It looked like his ankle kind of buckled on him. If the Giants were to lose Posey again, that would not be good.

I hadn't noticed that. On the recovery step, it did look like he was jammed a bit.

I doubt it would surprise anybody here if he did. These last couple weeks have felt an awful lot like 2011. Nit only Posey went down that year. Our entire roster, just about, was hampered for a good portion of the year.

We said at the beginning of the year that as long as he and the entire rotation stay relatively healthy, this team should make the playoffs. Vogey not withstanding, that has been true to this point. The loss of Posey would negate all of the .500ish baseball we've seen this year and make for a three-team race in the NL West. If both the Giants and Dodgers aren't a part of that race (which I still think is border-line impossible, even with both teams' failings), that is something that would be bad for baseball... at least on this coast. ;)

Rough one last night. When one of your aces pitches that well, you expect to get the win. At this point, of course, I still believe in winning the series, but I wouldn't be too upset with 1-2. Nobody appreciates the wrong end of a sweep against the biggest rival. By August, I think the entire NL West will be playing .500 ball. Talk about a cluster-F.
