Blach looking good again. Gs had second most QSs in mlb as of yesterday, but it hasn't done 'em much good.

Blach is now 2nd on the team with 5 QS, and he has done this in only 7 starts. Bum was 4/4. Scrabble is 6/10, and Cueto is 5/10

Toss the debacle in CIN, and Blach's ERA is 2.53

He looks good, but Heston taught me to be very wary of the unexpected SP stud from the system.

I don't think Blach was an unexpected guy. 5th rounder pretty much drafted to be exactly what he is, with good minor league seasons under his belt, usually hovering around the top 10 or in the top 10.

I don't think we can honestly expect him to keep anything close to this pace up though. 43 2/3 IP, 17 K's, 10 BB's. He keeps the ball on the ground, which I love, but not really at an elite rate. He is the 2nd coming of Kirk Rueter, like I honestly can't think of a better comp, outside of having a few more MPH on the fastball (but really, an 84 mph fastball back is like the equivalent of an 88 mph fastball now).

The problem is, Rueter wasn't very good, he just won a lot of games on high scoring teams.

Fine pitcher to have around, sure. And when things are working like they are right now for him, those are fun pitchers to watch, get it an go guys and keeps the defense involved. But he worries me. I'm not going to get excited for him and be okay with penciling him in for a long term spot. I'll certainly enjoy it now though.

Heston wasn't a complete surprise either. He was on most minors geeks radars from the early goings. But no one expected his rookie year.

Blach was on most radars as well. I am not sure I would classify him as a top 10 guy, though. He was on a few top 10 lists, sure, but he was always on the wrong side of the OMG line.

I just read the Sun. sports page and saw the League Leaders stats and the Gs have some guys in there! BA, StoBa, OnBa%, BonB, Saves, Innings Pitched and Ks. You already know who they are. In years past the Gs nearly always had someone in the triples category, but this year bupkis.

The AL stats had me laughing out loud. Of the 11 batting categories, Trout is in 10 and leading 4. He didn't show in 3Bs.

Say everything you posted is right. Wouldn't Blach be a perfect #5?

Bum/Beede/Moore/Shark/Blach

I think that rotation could be elite.
