Brett Wisley is playing like someone who doesn't want to be demoted when Ahmed and Luciano return from the injured list — 17-for-49 in his last 15 games.
I expect Luciano to get optioned when activated, unless Ahmed has another set back. Even then, they may stick with Schmitt over Luciano for now.Brett Wisley is playing like someone who doesn't want to be demoted when Ahmed and Luciano return from the injured list — 17-for-49 in his last 15 games.
Certainly was hoping for better results than that with men on baseGood game by Soler.
Good article by Baggs in The Athletic on how Pat the Bat is working with Soler. But still, there is this:
He [Soler] has come to the plate with 174 runners on base and scored just 12 of them (including one on a double-play grounder for which he received no RBI). His 6.9 percent scoring success rate is the third lowest among 214 major league hitters who have batted with at least 100 runners on base.
Baggs, my man…Per Baggs:
Rogers leads the major leagues with 35 appearances. He’s issued just one walk all season. And it was intentional.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the previous modern major-league record for consecutive appearances to start a season without an unintentional walk had belonged to Detroit Tigers left-hander Jamie Walker in 2006. Walker, who pitched in 34 games that season before he issued the first free pass of his own free will.

That last sentence hurts my head…
