It has to be difficult to find motivation when the team is playing the way it is.
I think I agree with tzill on this, at least be motivated to do well for yourself, your own career. Contenders pick up good bullpen arms midseason, at least play for a trade. A player looks poor on a mediocre team, his career is going to go down the crapper really fast.

Bully throwing BP to a Snakes lineup that doesn't have a hitter hitting better than .260

Giants' hitters can't hit the ball out of the infield.

And our deficit grows. Now being outscored by 64 runs (252-188) in 50 games.

Grant Brisbee had a good article on this at the Athletic the other day. He wrote (my take) that the Giants are winning close games, but losing big in other games. The (then) 21-26 record should be 18-29 or worse given the stats. So these Giants are outperforming!

Ugh.

Mac is done.

He's now K'ed in 7 of his last 9 at bats. And twice tonight with RISP. I was rooting for you, Mac. But if you can't drive in runs in a meaningless blowout, well, stick it.
His performance is awfully disappointing. He may still have a few more days to turn it around but it doesn't look likely.

On a somewhat related note, I wonder how many days Bochy wonders to himself if he waited a year or two too long to retire.

Should have retired in 2014!

I guess tzill's favorite, Holland, is not long for the team, either. He has sucked as a starter, and now is even worse in relief. And all four runs scored with no one on and two outs.

18-2 now, in a game we once led 2-1.

PomPom is terrible.

I'd just as soon see Beede, or Suarez, or Anderson. Give them some experience. They cannot do worse than a 6.50 ERA, can they?

:puke:

I seem to have read that before.

We can only hope.
