Simmonds gets the deflection goal on a shot by Ghost. 1-0 Flyers through two periods. We really need to win this one in regulation and avoid the inevitable shootout loss. Three point games within the division (like our last) are just terrible to have.

On one scary play, Couturier appeared to take a skate directly to his testicles and left the ice quickly, only to return later, thankfully.

Sidenote for Lasgop: Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

This is an enormous third period. We have an opportunity to put some serious distance between us and the Canes, Jackets, Isles and Rags. That will really improve our playoff chances moving forward.

Coots pretty much saves us from another embarrassing, late blown lead. Great pass by Konecny too, but that shot...

I don't doubt the veteran presence of MacDonald, but he can't ice that puck with 3:35 left in regulation. Too tight of a game for that and he has too much experience. He definitely knows better and it essentially gave them a point.

Really love the way Nolan Patrick has looked over the last 10+ games. He is playing with much more confidence and using his size more. I still think being a second line centre is a bit much right now. However playing with Voracek and Simmer must be a part of the reason. I feel much better about him moving forward, he has all of the tools to be a very solid player

I agree, His play has been much more physical. I think he was hurt early and is just now getting back up to speed. Hope he continues to grow in that direction.
