Its 9% vs 17% ( onside kick vs 4th and 15 historically ) but onside kick % is far lower since the rule changei always thought 4th and 15 would be much easier than an onside kick so i'm glad they're not doing it.

Especially with the rules. Could you imagine a big gm being flipped when a db gets an illegal contact penalty on the 4th and 15
I'd have been OK with the 4th and 15 because the new onside rules made it virtually impossible to convert. I agree go back to what wasn't broken.
No we can't. They broke what wasn't broken, now they can't fix it.I do agree the 4th and 15 rule is better than what we have now but can we trust the refs to let the play happen without having that cheap penalty called.

They won't go back, it will throw their BS safety concerns in the dumpster. They could fix it, they choose not too.

Basketball's intentional foul would like to have a word with you.I don't like onside kicks at all. I can't think of one sport that says when you're getting your ass kicked we will make an exception for you.
And thank the lord there is no 4th and 15 rules. Fucking Eagles secondary the opposition has a good 60% chance of converting.

Probably one of the stupidest things in sports - intentionally fouling to get back into a game. Yes, you should make your FT's, but any other time in the game, if you intentionally foul someone it's usually a flagrant. When you get to that last few minutes of a game where a team is down 8-12 points - you just know those last 3 minutes will take 45 minutes to complete. It's brutal to watch.
Fair enough - I agree, not really a rules issue. The time-out, ball at half-court is also stupid, but I digress. That's not a rule though. It would be more along the lines of "If you make them inbound the ball for more then half court then you get the ball back."
There is no written rule in any sport that lets the team that's losing the game get the ball back. Just never made sense but I guess it can make the game a little more exciting. Intentionally fouling wasn't put in by the rules committee to give the team that's losing another chance.
Right with ya. Give the W to the team who earned itI don't like onside kicks at all. I can't think of one sport that says when you're getting your ass kicked we will make an exception for you.

Stupid idea, like they come up with every time they fuck with the rules.
