I really liked him better than McCoy though:

Josh Johnson - QB - Bengals

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Josh Johnson has a "pretty big lead" on John Skelton for the Bengals' No. 2 quarterback job.

The Enquirer named Johnson one of its five "standout" players through the first week of camp, praising his command of the playbook and his ability to throw the deep ball. Both he and Skelton have big-time arms, but Johnson's experience in a West Coast offense is really showing. The preseason will tell us more. Related: John Skelton

Alex Smith - QB - Chiefs

According to the Kansas City Star, Chiefs coach Andy Reid "has long coveted" Alex Smith, and looked into acquiring him while he was still coaching the Eagles.

The implication being, he really, really likes the guy. The Chiefs have every reason to pump up their new quarterback — OC Doug Pederson has gone as far as to claim he believes Smith is the best quarterback in the NFL — but the reality is, he's only a marginal upgrade on departed signal caller Matt Cassel. Reid is going to have to heavily alter his famously pass-happy system if he hopes to have the same success managing and manipulating Smith that Jim Harbaugh did in San Francisco.

Disagree. There is more than one way to skin a cat. You can game-plan a way to be pass-happy with Smith. Throw more on first down when it's more of a running play. Run the option, as Jaworski said he was in the top ten for. Short, intermediate passes, etc. Some QBs would be easier to do so, but it's possible and I think he'll do better than many think.

Harbaugh didn't trust Smith as much and Smith gave him reasons not to in his first 6 seasons. He also has physical limitations and hesitations, too. But coaching had to do with some of the hesitations, and his physical limitations and prior 6 years led to that type of coaching (so I'm not blaming the coaches, it made sense). But I feel Reid trusts him and Smith will step up. Reid doesn't need to manage Smith to add a few passes every game. He might not get to the 579 he's averaged, but he should well surpass the 426-445 that he had or was on pace for the last two years.

I feel Reid will run Reid's offense and Smith will either step up or he won't. I don't see some type of major altering. I might be the only one who thinks he'll step up, but that's ok, none of us determine that, only the players themselves.

I feel his yards, TDs, INTs will go up. His completion percentage, yards per attempt will go down. He'll contribute more to the offense, as the INTs will go up a little and the TDs will go up more significantly with the increase in attempts. But that's just my opinion.

From another thread, but it belongs here for archiving. ;) I can throw better than this, obviously, but I'm susceptible to this.

Sweet throw, Raul Ibanez

Dez and Been were my fav WR prospects the year they came out. Benn however is unable to stay healhty and now this recent injury could seal his fate of never getting that last opportunity to play in the league:

Arrelious Benn - WR - Eagles

Eagles WR Arrelious Benn has been diagnosed with a torn left ACL, and is done for the season.

It's the same ACL Benn tore in 2010. It's a career-clouding injury, as the 2010 second-rounder has provided little, if any, impressive tape during his three-year career. Benn wasn't competing for a starting job in Philadelphia, and was going to need an impressive preseason to even crack the 53-man roster. The chronically-injured wideout turns 25 next month.

I was right there with you w/ Benn. I also liked Gabe Carimi as a RT prospect the year after, but his career's been riddled with injuries too. It doesn't look good for either one of them to pan out. It's pretty rare to have a player come into the league, get bombarded with injuries and then get over 'em and play great. Kyle Vanden Bosch comes to mind, but I can't think of any others off the top of my head.

Randy Moss - WR - Free Agent

A source with knowledge of the situation tells Profootballtalk free agent Randy Moss has a "tentative" agreement to join FOX as a commentator.

The deal isn't finalized, but "no glitches currently are expected." Joining FOX would likely make Moss' retirement official. Now 36 years old, Moss drew few nibbles in free agency due in large part to the facts his athleticism and explosion have evaporated, and Moss was only open to ideal team scenarios.

Potential way to watch every NFL game for free on a jailbroken iPad

Ok I got a couple replies so I will try and explain this clearly. If yall have any questions feel free to PM me. You will need to download three apps on the ipad. 1) NFL Game Pass 2) VPN One Click 3) UDID Faker. The NFL Game Pass is the non-US version of Game Rewind and will need to be downloaded from foreign iTunes store like the UK version. This is what you watch the games on and with this app they are live and able to be streamed via airplay. VPN One Click can be downloaded in your regular iTunes store. VPN One Click lets you basically disguise your IP as if it is coming from another country so you can trick Game Pass when you open it into thinking that you are from a country outside of the US. Since the NFL gives the Netherlands free access to Game Pass for some reason, set your VPN to a Netherlands server and BAM! You skip the subscription screen when you open Game Pass and it takes you to the main page where you can watch all pre-season, regular season, NFL Network, and Redzone.

Last but not least is the UDID Faker which is downloaded through Cydia. You need this because the VPN One Click app is a free 7 day trial so if you dont want to pay for it, you change the UDID for the app keep starting a new 7 day trial. Free NFL!

1) on your ipad go to settings-itunes and app stores- sign out if you are currently signed in. Make sure there is no apple id in the box.

2) you need an address in the UK and an email that is not currently being used by your US apple id. This is necessary because when you download the Game Pass app from the UK store you will need to set up a UK user id. I set up another gmail and used the address of a hotel in London.

3) click on this link: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/nfl-game-pass/id459244446?mt=8

4) before it downloads it will ask you to set up a new id or use an existing one. This is where you set up the new id using your UK address. Where it asks for a credit card, make sure to select NONE!

5) you will be sent an email to your new email that you set up to verify your new UK account. Click on the link in the email and verify your new UK Apple App Store ID. Now you should be able to download NFL Game Pass that is not available to us in the states.

6) once it is downloaded go back to settings and then itunes and app stores and sign out of your new UK address and sign back in with your regular US ID.

7) once youre able to sign in to the US store again, download and install VPN One Click. It will ask to install a VPN profile and you will agree.

8) open Cydia and download UDID Faker. Like i said above, this app is used solely to trick VPN One Click into giving you infinite free 7 day trials.

9) every time you open Game Pass you must first open VPN One Click and set the server to the Netherlands.

10) click on settings and then the VPN tab. To the right scroll through the list of countries until you see the Netherlands. Select one of the Netherlands then turn on the app back at the top. Wait until you see it connected.

11) once the VPN is connected, you may open Game Pass and it should bypass the subscription screen and take you right to the media content. The stream will be choppy because VPN slows down your connection so once the stream you select has run for a few seconds, use task manager to bring up settings and go to VPN again and turn it off. Use task manager to go back to Game Pass and your stream will be paused. Press play and it should clear up within a few seconds depending on your connection.

12) Airplay to AppleTV if desired or enjoy on ipad.

13) Free football baby!

I have no idea if this works, I do not have an iPad to test this, but it was posted on another 49ers forum a few days ago and I thought I'd share for the posters here who might have a jailbroken iPad and want to give it a shot. After reading the post I googled, "watch nfl games on jailbroken iPad" and came across a blog that said this was outdated info, so it might be total BS... but, whatever, if you want to give it a shot. Never know until you try.

Those NFL Network preseason commercials are so stupid! "Who would've thought this guy would be so great? Those of us who saw him crush it in the preseason."

Just because football fans are so dumb, they don't have to pander to them with dumb commercials.

Similar but different, someone on another board said this worked. Have not tried it.

NFL Gameday is free...in the Netherlands. So here we go:
1) Add the extension "Hola Unblocker" to your browser. I use Chrome.
2) Go to the site: https://gamepass.nfl.com
3) Once there, click the "Hola Unblocker" flame and switch to the Netherlands.
4) The site will now reload, unblocked.
5) Now click a game. A popup will open.
6) Now this is where I had to get creative.Mine would only buffer. Forever. So I copied the pop-up link, and pasted it in a Chrome tab.
7) Wait for it to load, and start to buffer again.
8) Now switch Hola Unblocker "Back to US"
9) Site will reload and BOOM. NFL Gameday, Bitches.
**I only call you bitches cause I don't know you individually yet.

That actually worked, well, it worked to let me watch NFL Network live. I'll have to try it with a game tomorrow. Its letting me watch week 1 games too.

This probably won't last very long, if it is on reddit the NFL will catch wind of it quickly and shut it down.
