Kyle is a better man than me. I would have been in that officials face giving him the MLB manager treatment until they escorted me out after that B.S. call. That call is why penalties should be reviewable, at least in the final minutes.
Agreed. Usually on a judgement call penalty you can sort of see both sides and understand why the ref called it but that offensive pass interference call that cost the 49ers the game simply defies explanation. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what the ref thought he saw.

I think Goff does deserve credit for making some really nice throws and good decisions with the football. He also did well by sensing pressure (what little there was) and getting rid of the ball, something Hoyer has an issue with. But the 49ers defense made it easy for him. The pass rush was almost non-existent. He had a clean pocket most of the night. I think there were only a couple of QB pressures. As someone mentioned to me, playing Thursday night after playing so much last Sunday, the defense probably was a bit gassed. Good defenses can rebound better than where our team is right now. Plenty of time to get ready for Arizona next week and Rueben Foster might be back. If Arizona rolls us on offense, then week 2 was mirage for the defense. Seattle's offense is pretty bad right now.
I gotta disagree. Our defensive backfield is just awful. That's the reason Goff looked like Joe Montana out there last night. It was almost like our DBs had no idea what their responsibilities were in coverages

Smart play by Shanahan...the rookie HC. He starts blowing up at refs so early in his tenure and his rep around the league to the zebras takes a hit. Of course, he can't let them walk all over him either, so it's a fine line. From the one angle they have as of now, it looked like a weak call, but....whatever.

I saw most of the second half....defensive line got zero rush on Goff. Defense in general was bad, or maybe the Ram QB deserves some credit. There were people who were eager to write Goff off, but perhaps all it took was a creative offensive mind to put him in position to succeed. Time will tell. As for Hoyer, he seemed to shrug off what I saw later on was a laughably bad interception. The skilled players did OK, except for the numerous dropped passes. As with the D-line, the O-line was sub-par (not on the same level but still).

Lots of guys dinged up. On to (looks up who is next on the sched)........the Cardinals.
..........Or a horrendous defensive backfield to play against

I agree Our DBs did not play well. And they weren't helped by zero pass rush. But Goff did make some really nice throws and good decisions although we made it a lot easier for him

Crazy thing we are 2 plays from being 2-1 and 1st place in the division. Hey if the offense showed up at all we might be 3-0. We are 1 year away from making any kind of noise. We are headed in the right direction. we jut a QB and add some more talent to this team. Pass Rusher and another Good CB is very important. Need to improve the Oline

And they did almost win. An inexplicable offensive PI call cost them the game.

So Tank is on IR...

Who woulda thought HE would be the guy to get hurt? There were no indications that he would have injuries.

As long as you completely ignore his history, that is...

The irony is he was having his best season as a 49er. He wasn't an all pro but was actually playing pretty well and I have been pretty hard on the guy at times in the past. Baalke really messed up his career.

Our pass rush got noticeably worst once Tank went out with that injury.
