I'd bet after the bye. The Santa Clara DA said they expected him to surrender at the end of the month, so he'll probably leave rehab either this week or next and then handle the first step of his legal issues and then return to practice the week of the Panthers game. Knock the rust off with limited play and then get back to full on domination against the Saints.

He's an awesome player and a defensive force, and he's still very young...so hopefully when he gets his head together and his legal troubles and obligations remedied he'll be back....with a vengeance.

Being processed at 9:40am and being released at 11:20am is 100% preferential treatment. The question remains, though: is letting Aldon Smith out of jail 2 & 1/2 hours early really THAT egregious if he was going to get OR'd regardless?

Bringing Aldon to the sheriff's shooting range is the much bigger hypocrisy in that story.

Are you sure that the drinking didn't actually help his play? (Babe Ruth). JK really. I hope he comes out and helps this team get to the playoffs and further ,along with others who are coming off of injuries .

They need to let him clear up his off field issues, first and foremost...I'm surprised they didn't see the red flags earlier.

1 guy isn't the entire team.

For sure....Aldon is one of the keys to winning...the kid is a sack -master. He brings much to the 9ers D. I hope he gets back after the bye.

To add to that, Aldon Smith's mom was at the Titans game. Probably the source Harbaugh was using? In their conversations maybe she told Harbaugh that Aldon was telling her that he'd be out in a couple weeks?

yes maybe 2-3 more weeks and then 1 week to get ready for football. So 4 more weeks he will be out.
