I, like everyone else here, would love to see this resolved sooner than later but I have a feeling were still at least a few days away from Peyton making a decision. I also have a hard time letting myself get excited at the prospect of Peyton behind center for the Niners but only because I have gotten my hopes up about other Niner related things and been let down. Reports were he met Harbs on Tuesday, we gave him a physical on Wednesday. Not sure about the truth of Harbs and Co. flying out to Durham. Our beat reporters don't know jack. Our FO is too stealthy!

This could all just be an agent play to get more money for both his clients. Manning will entertain the idea of playing for the 49ers to drive up his asking price with other teams that know the 49ers are the more attractive option.

Once Manning signs elsewhere the 49ers will be left with Smith as their only real option which will give him a little more leverage on his contract.

And IF it's true that the Manning camp initiated contact with the 49ers, this should be a done deal - unless his contract demands are outrageous. I've been saying this for a while that if Manning cares more about winning a championship then SF is his destination.

I dont think you understand what i was saying and its written in the article above.
Payton doesnt want to be the reason Eli doesnt make it to the big dance. How doesnt that make sense??? He rather play is little brother in the big dance so they both could say we made it to the ultimate goal.
For me personally, if i have to play my brother then i have to play him regardless. I dont care what round it is, we still have to face the situation of making one or thee other sad.

well I just saw where Peyton worked out for the 49ers at duke,,,if they could swing the deal and he stays healthy,,,,,the 49ers would be the team to beat this year,,,good luck
