Series Thread: 4 game series in Baltimore for Hamilton and the Rangers

If you want Rua to be able to step in without missing a beat when Hamilton or goes down he needs to be hitting every day.

They would plug Martin back in if DeShields and Choo are playing everyday with Hamilton. With those 4 do not see Rua getting to play everyday. He wasn't even getting to with DeShields and Hamilton out. I think to them he is a so to speak utility OFer so they are not that concerned with it. Plus they have very few RH OF options to take on that role. They seem to have a completely different mindset with Rua than some other so called studs coming up in in the past, present and future.

Martin is a lost cause. There's nothing to plug in there. Martin's future is undoubtedly as a 4th OF and defensive replacement. In no way does he provide any offensive value in the lineup if one of Hamilton or Choo goes down. If Rua can get going in AAA again, he could provide some value in the lineup. Put Martin in his rightful place, and let him rot on the bench.

I think Rua not playing when those two went down was simply due to bad timing. He was just recovering from an injury himself. Had he been playing at AAA the month prior to those two going down and had he been hitting the way he did last year then I think he would have come up and played on a regular basis unless Gallo was knocking the cover off of the ball.

Spot on Bennie. As it is, AAA is his best bet now.
