It was in my parent's Norfolk paper the other day.

Sioux City wasn't in the top 15............but Lincoln, Omaha, Norfolk, and Grand Island were.

7-3am would be 8 hours of drinking..............which, unfortunately, is normal for me when I decide to stay home and drink

It may be the norm in Norfolk, but drinkers in the city are now a statistic. They rank 8th in the nation when it comes to binge drinking, according to the Centers for Disease Control. And 22% of folks in Norfolk surveyed admitted to binge drinking in the last year.

Alcohol & Drug Counselor Brooke Pelster said, "I wouldn't say that I'm surprised by the numbers. I do a lot of drug and alcohol evaluations and I often see people that meet the criteria for what the definition of binge drinking is."

That's classified as 4 drinks per sitting for women, and 5 for men. But how much does your typical bar-goer in Norfolk drink per night?

"Double digits, well over 10, I would say," said Fauss.

Some folks told me the Midwest is more lenient towards alcohol use. The same study has the state of Nebraska coming in second across the nation.
