Heartbreaker...

As I put in the pick thread, he was on my short list last round and I watched him fall all the way down only to go 1 pick before mine.

Luckily I got him. I needed a point guard. But my plan was to get a really good backup to make that position much stronger, since he hasn't been the healthiest. I got Hill, who is a starter really. So I am happy with my last 2 picks . I think I still got good value with Rose in the late 4th round

I am thinking the same thing
im doing best avaliable to a certain extent...

Deron Williams was 3rd on my board-- Olnyk was second, and another guy that has not been drafted yet was 1st- ----Greg Hill was 4th...

I felt after Deron Williams and Greg Hill that their was a significant drop off in point guards- that if you hadnt already taken one that there wasnt gonna be one left that was anywhere near an impact guy. Since I am at the end of the draft- and 4 people still needed PG's- I had to take Williams. If say those 4 teams took PGs and 3-4 other teams took PGs (which is reasonable out of 25 other teams) - i just couldnt see starting the 7 or 8th PG down on my list.

Of course- having Deron Williams pretty high on the list (And Greg Hill too) where they would not have been reaches at all- helps. I liked Olnyk as a floor spreader- but felt getting Deron Williams was too important at this point--- i didnt want to end up with Ish Smith as my starting PG or Mario Chalmers.

That is funny Wiggy.

Because I had Thompson at the top of my list of guys to take in round 5. I was pretty sure you would take him, but felt it was more important to get my stretch 4.

Ironically, I believe Olynyk would be a better fit for your team and Thompson perhaps a better fit for mine, but I certainly understand why you took your boy.

Lots of really balanced teams. Its probably going to come down to how people view injured players and players past their prime.

I think there are a lot of teams that are talented, but some are lacking a veteran guy in their starting lineup. Maybe not for this draft but in the NBA you need a veteran guy to win or a couple of them.

As we speak I like these teams the best, not in any specific order:

Utah
Portland
Golden State
Chicago
Cleveland
Brooklyn

And my team New York isn't bad either.

Would you guys trade Towns for AD straight up?

Towns is looking like a really good player and he is only a rookie. But AD is already a superstar at only 22, 2 years older than Towns. You already know what you have, a superstar at pretty much every aspect of the game. No way you do that straight, both players will be great but the difference is AD is already great.

i always had a sneaky position Bolts would end up with crabbes....
And I'm not afraid to admit it either, I'm happy to have the Crabbes.

I'd be happy with AD or KAT on my team, but I'll pick AD if I had to choose one. The biggest worry with him is injuries, if he could stay healthy I would expect him to be the best player in the NBA within 3 or 4 years.

Yup and that would be the obvious reason. Take the known commodity forsure.

It is tough to ignore Towns having a much better rookie season though. Would be hard to not "play it out" so to speak. I guess he was 3rd player to have 1,000/500/100 in 60 games?

Gonna be crazy to see how good both guys are in their prime.
