Not necessarily. If Richardson is the object of their desire, they likely don’t want to start him right away and give him time to develop. They could play Geno for two years and then cut him before the last year of the deal.

Really not a huge fan of the signing...

I'll give it a C- grade. Seattle actually has a pretty good cast of offensive players, not sure why they felt the need to do this on a one year QB, but assuming Pete just wanted a yes man. Geno played pretty bleh in the second half of the year and when he was throwing strikes beat up against absolutely terrible or injured defenses.

I'd have to assume Seattle just wants to draft DL/DL/DL/C with their first 4 picks and old ass Pete didn't want to be bothered with coaching up a new QB.

It is what it is. Not overly thrilled with this but go heavy on defense with a center mixed in with their first 5 picks. Take a rookie QB in the 6th rounder and give him the backup job.
