After a night’s sleep, I actually am of the opinion that he deserved the FMVP. The narrative would not have allowed for that, but Wiggins was all over the place, in every aspect of the game.
Just look at the numbers, this is not correct. He didn't have a 47 point game. Curry was obviously the most valuable/important/best player on the court

Also, Looney and Payton don't have star potential, while Poole does. And you win with stars, right? Gotta keep the 22 year old who is showing so much potential over the role players who have reached their potential and are 26 and 29 years old.

Do you think Poole is good enough to elevate the future core?

I don’t.

So you keep the pieces who can best help you win another in the twilight of the big 3.

Poole is 22. Perfect age to grow with Kuminga and Wiseman, and all 3 of them have star potential. I think that is the Warriors' plan for those 3 to grow together. And maybe Moody will be a pleasant surprise, too. Maybe it proves to be a mistake, but I like the plan. The front office did good by resisting the temptation of trading these guys for a veteran to help win this year.

And as Curry ages more (will be 35 next year), he'll probably need even more rest. If Poole were gone, I still don't know who would run the team when Curry is sitting. It certainly wouldn't be anyone who is currently on the roster.

That sounds great.

But you are spoiled if you think that trio has any legitimate shot of being a future title core.

Sorry man.

It is very hard to win NBA titles. 3 stars don’t get you there unless 1 is a superstar.

You have your superstar right now. Could be 30 years before you get another.

In winning 4, I'm actually already fully satisfied with the Curry era. He doesn't have to win another. Any more titles would be icing on the cake. It would be great, of course, but I'm satiated as a fan.

To trade away Poole, it would have to be a very good offer from the other team. At 22 years old and showing so much potential, Poole is a very valuable piece. Wiseman's value is probably pretty low right now. Kuminga should be high value. Who would you propose that the Warriors try to get?

I wasn’t even thinking about trade.

Just that there are going to be teams who want to pay Poole a lot of money.

And as good as he is, there are a lot of small bucket getters in the NBA. It is very rare that one of those guys breaks the mold and becomes a legit star that has great impact on winning.

Because right now Poole gives up almost as much as he gives you. And like I said, you really want to pay 20-25 million to a guy who averaged about 20 minutes a game in the Finals?

That is tough.

Highly doubt that the Warriors would let him just walk because he's 22 years old and showing a lot of potential. He's only going to get stronger and his defensive technique should get better. 59.8 TS% in this year's regular season and upping that to 65.4 TS% in this year's playoffs is obviously very promising.

I don't know how great the BPM stat actually is, but Poole is showing as a net positive.

Overall -3 in the Finals, but it is weighed down by a bad Game 1. He was a positive in 4 of 6 games.

I don’t think they will let him walk.

But like I said, good luck paying him!

He and Curry don’t fit in the same backcourt all that well.

Wiggins is super athletic, even compared to other highly athletic NBA players. I think a lot of people forgot that because of the disappointing Minny years. With the coaching here, he took his game to another level.
We can thank Bob Myers for putting those pieces together....as well as having the perfect cast of characters and coaching staff already in place to make it all click.

He's also surrounded by talent and in a system highly beneficial to his skillset. If Kerr actually thought he was a star in the making he'd be getting more minutes.

He's a very solid piece but not one I'd pay top dollar too. I'd much much rather have Wiggins over Poole

He's not a star right now, but he's 22 and already doing well. He's only going to get physically stronger and his defensive technique should get better. He's already showing excellent offensive skills and he scores at all three levels. I'm sure the Warriors want to keep him long term. I guess we'll see how much they are willing to pay. I think the max for him would be lower than a max for a veteran player.

At least both Wiggins and Poole believe they're going to get the bag. LOL. I hope they're right.

In Wiggins case it would be another bag

There are actually some Lakers fans who were rooting for the Celtics, but I think they are more LeBron fans than Laker fans. With how hard it is to win a title, a Celtics Finals win this year could have put them in the lead for decades.

I am not convinced Poole will be around for the long term. He will get PAY-ED, and the dubs can’t keep everyone.
I believe they will try to keep him and phase Thompson out. Sad to see Thompson go because he was a stalwart of the championship teams

Klay is still the OG laid back bad ass though
Not as much anymore since he came back. he celebrates on court a lot now. I was watching Wiggins just chillin in the back while Curry, Green, Thompson and a bunch of others were up front hogging the camera time in the trophy presentation time. Looked like Wiggins didn't need to do that.
