It would be interesting to see what he would do with a "do-over".

Pretty safe bet that if he had chosen to go to the Lakers with Lebron, he wouldn't be looking at the possibility of a being swept out of the first round and the Lakers wouldn't look like such a mess.

I guess in theory there is a possibility of a sweep but things could also look much different come Sunday.

NBA's next expansion city...

basketball MUST return for Seattle...

It is an absolutely shame Seattle doesn't have a team, makes no sense. Portland is a shithole btw, so really if a city in the PNW should have a team it should be Seattle.

Really? I've only heard great things about it and my few brief visits there haven't turned me off to the city. I thought it had a vibe very much like SF, unless you also thing SF is a shithole, lol.

Plus it has voodoo donuts, so I'm all for it.

When was the last time you visited? It's gone to hell within the last 7 years.

You drive into the city and are greeted with tents on the side of the highway, to get into stores or restaurants you have to step over people sleeping by the doors, watch out for needles, all awhile the city embraces this image and does nothing to stop it.

Watch this and you can apply it to Portland.

If you don't have the hour to spare to watch it, just skip through parts and just take a gander at the images and sound clips of people they interview. It's the same nonsense in Portland.

This is very similar to San Francisco, but I guess I don't mind it as much because I've grown up around it my whole life and can turn a blind eye to it most times.

I visited twice within the last 3 years, but those were not even full day stays. 1 day business trips mostly with about 4-5 hours to get around the city. So like I said, not enough to draw a full conclusion, but everyone else I've talked to says they like the city.

I've never been to San Fran, so I cant compare it, but Portland has turned into one giant homeless camp that is completely unregulated by the city. It's been bad for so long I turned occasional trips into Portland down to just one time a year, for Christmas as seeing the city decorated for the Holidays is fun, but after this past year of going there and seeing the filth just get out of control I don't think we will go back. Really there is no reason to go there, maybe to catch an even at the moda center, but really whatever is going on at the moda center I can usually watch from the comfort of my home.

Some folks just don't like city life, or outgrow it
I love SF and Portland and NYC and Chicago and all the rest, even though they all have seedy parts. Parts, not the entire city is like that anywhere.

that is the problem with Portland, it's not just some shady and seedy parts anymore, it's basically the entire city. You used to know what parts of town to stay out of, and had the understanding if you went to those parts you'd be met with this problem, but now it's the entire city. You go to the pearl district (upscale part of Portland) and you see this.

Same. I could never see myself living far from NYC.

Right now I'm in Jersey but can get to NYC in 30 minutes.

Unlike probably NYC, and Chicago, Portland is like that everywhere. It's not a big city to begin with, compared to those major cities, and the issue has spread to all over.

Interesting, guess my daughter is lucky then because she wants to move to Seattle...

BTW, a late shout out to George. He started the last game shoving harkless around (legally) with hjis shoulder. Good hard nosed basketball. George just kept testing the refs until he was just belting Harkless and sending him flying. Those were fouls, but he had worked up to it and the refs gave him the benefit of the doubt. Pissed me off, but that's how old school vets play the game. I was impressed.

Tonight is a huge game, I think OKC wins, but the excitement is there because if Portland wins they should win the series.

I think OKC blows them out in at least one if not both home games

This series is impossible to handicap, so it likely will be a series of easier than expected home wins.

I could very well see OKC winning tonights game in the realm of 120-97, Westbrook going for a triple double with like 38 points. But I have this hope that Portland escapes with a close win and takes a 3-0 series lead.
