Russ is definitely the problem. When he takes their offense hostage by trying to out do the other team's "hot" player he kills them every time. It's like his team becomes invisible to him in those moments.
But, they do need a better coach that can get RW in check & be brave enough to take the ball out of his hands in those moments. I've said this for the past 3 seasons.

Paul George attempted 15 threes in game 1. Schroder attempted 7.

Russ just missed shots last night. He's not playing hero ball. Not attempting a crazy amount of 3's. He is simply missing shots.

Not sure what series you're watching.

In the past he did that at times for sure. In the series so far he has not done that.

He was actually solid in game 1. That game was all on PG-13 terrible shot selection.

Can't complain when Russ shoots 47% and finish with 24-10-10. Anyone who watched G1 would know PG-13 and Kanter abusing Adams were the main reasons for their defeat.

He played like crap yesterday for sure but he never took the offense hostage.

He had 1 good game and 1 bad game.

You crack me up when you use 1 game as a defense to his usual tactics that cost them games more times than not. He played lousy in game 2 & he even said so. But we're not talking only about this series.
His efficiency rating is terrible & has been atrocious all season...as well as season's past.
So, yes RW is the problem & has been the problem & why this team can't win. Coincidence that he hasn't made it out of the first round of the playoffs since KD left? Or can we say KD masked a lot of RWs mistakes?

Yeah too many players that are average to below average 3 pt shooters settling for outside shots. That combined with an inefficient night for RW is a disaster. RW isn't all of the problem here and I think coaching has some to do with it too.
The only players I want shooting high volume 3 pointers are players that are used to it or star players that get hot from 3. PG has attempted so many almost 10 a game this year at a 39% clip so that isn't too bad but he needs to realize when your team is down the entire 2nd half you and your teammates don't need to be settling. I doubt it would have mattered in this particular game but still. There are a number of reasons other than RW this team plays like this too often.

If PG was more aggressive in game 1 as he was last night then G1 is a likely Thunder win. Can't settle for 3's especially when you're not hitting them.

I saw him on Indiana do the same thing so I'm surprised. Don't get me wrong he can have those games where he goes for 40+ like he did against Lebron but like we have all said it's a make and miss league. If you aren't making your shots, drive and stop settling. RW does it too but the point is it isn't close to all his fault.

OKC is 10 for 61 from 3 point range in these first two games. That's all you need to know. Worst 3 point percentage in the 1st two games in playoff history.

OKC also need more from the role players.

Grant gave them a total of 13 points in the first 2 games. This is a guy who had a terrific season avg 13 & 5 on 50% shooting in the regular season.

Schroder another dude who was a really good role player in the regular season avg 15 per night. Currently is 7-22 in this series scoring a total of 18 points.

OKC can still win this series for sure but they're going to need consistent production from their other guys. If for example Grant and Schroder can play how they did in the regular season, they have a solid chance of winning this series still.

If it is just going to be Russ/PG-13 and some Adams, they're not going to win this series.
