"sixers will have a hard time if they let Capela mug Embiid again"

:pound:

Capela (6-10 & 240) was roughing up Embiid (7-0 & 280)? Watched every game of this series and don't recall that happening.
He was all over him playing through the body on entry passes. If you’ve watched the whole series you know he’s averaged over 13.5 foul shots per game but all of a sudden Clint Capela can play him without fouling in game 6? Come on.

My bad on the stat. I grabbed it from sports talk radio drop from a host. Shouldn’t have put my trust in it.

How many players in the history of the NBA averaged 32.8% at the charity stripe in the playoffs? Hint: Only one, Ben Simmons. The only players to even approximate that low-water mark are all centers. There has never been a starting PG on a playoff team who shot worse than Ben Simmons. None, not Rondo, no one.

These are unreal numbers that make the guy pretty much unplayable in the clutch.

Simmons has missed 45 free throws in 10 playoff games. That’s more than three total teams have missed in their first 10 games of this postseason; Atlanta missed 35, Phoenix missed 29 and Brooklyn missed 22. The Los Angeles Clippers have missed 46, as a team, through 12 games.

I honestly don’t give a fuck about this. I really don’t when I’m assessing the value Ben Simmons has in a trade. Coaches at the highest levels are arrogant and they see a skill set like Simmons and believe they’re the guy that can unlock it. Ben Simmons doesn’t have value relative to a max player but he will bring back a piece that will fit better with the rest of the roster construction. The knee jerk on this guy is crazy from our fan base. Because fat white guys can go out into the drive way and make 6 of 10 they get angry that Dude can’t with playoff pressure in front of 15k people. If tonight works out you’ll see the value of Ben Simmons in playing Giannis Middleton and Holiday.

If it were still a major issue, he wouldn't be balling out like when he went for 37 points.

Think he's relatively healthy. Everybody is banged up at this point of the season.
He needs to have another cortisone shot.

Tobias has scored 19 or more points in 10 of the 11 games so far and he's being crucified because he had one bad game. Brutal is right.
Agreed. The Tobias hate in Philly is palpable. He has had the best playoff of his career and that’s for a guy with a reputation of being a subpar playoff performer. And I’ll own I was critical of him myself. I didn’t like 2nd half of game 4 game 5 disappearing act. All season he’s accepted the role of being the consistent 20 point plus guy. Part of that role is he can’t disappear for 6 quarters in a row.

There are 3 guys in the history of basketball to average 15, 7.5 and 7.5. Luka Oscar Robertson and Ben Simmons. Ben Simmons has more value than you’re considering. I think you’re reacting to the reality that Embiid and Simmons skill sets aren’t compliments of each other and both tend to stagnate the other in the half court offense.
Westbrook has done that multiple times

I am at least 7/10 in the driveway, bro, cmon.

I get what you are saying, that an arrogant coach will think they can fix him, but you are nuts to think that his shooting doesn't severely depress his trade value at this point.

I looked and Westbrook nearly had that for his career but had 7.4 rebounds a game. He has 23.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game. Pretty good. Of course I didn't mention shooting percentages though...

Honestly, you are nuts to think he has negative trade value.

If Philly started shopping him, they would get calls from most teams in the league. He is still young enough and good enough that contenders and non-contenders alike would be interested at some level.
