right ... i think 5 years from now, he puts some meat on his bones, he might turn into somebody

Superstar!

Actually I do think you were going overboard but I like him too. I see Tashawn Prince in him and I think we'd both take that right?

In his mind, Tashaun Prince was a superstar. Hence the disconnect.

Respect to Boston, I still think we can win this series but its going to be very hard if we keep getting outcoached, and outplayed in the 4th quarter. Last time I was in Boston, IT posters were all over the train stations and public transportation -- and I see why!

Prince was on those great Detroit teams with Rip Hamilton and Big Shot Billups.

That was an old school team... they played D the right way.

I think they were a great team.

The NBA is a superstar league, and that's the factor that usually wins out... but that 2004 Detroit club is a shining example of how a cohesive team can sometimes overcome the odds, even in the NBA.

They beat Kobe and Shaq.

On a side note: I wonder how a guy like Ben Wallace would fit in to today's "spread the floor, everyone shoot 3's" NBA? Hmm... I'll leave that as an open question.

and Shaq was fat

they got lucky to have their run when they did ...

If we only judged teams by how they played on the road in front of playoff crowds it wouldn't be much of an evaluation right? Just sayin'. Wall or Beal hit that last shot and they go home 1-1 despite an insane night by Thomas and this series is looked at completely differently.
Well, unless it was the Jazz vs. Clippers.

If we judged based on that Series, the Warriors wouldn't stand a chance.

Depends on how many quality shooters he had.

Quantity and quality matter.

If they have the right mix, it could play out like Dwight Howard's Magic.

If they didn't, see Biyombo's Magic...lol

So because player A isn't asked to do nearly as much, he should be rewarded with his less than stellar production? Makes no sense. So the fact that Bojan has to do more is a detriment here? How does that make any sense?

Like the vast majority of Wiggy's posts...it doesn't.

The Wiz don't have HCA. So, in order to win the series, they are going to have to win at least 1 road game. Imo, that makes LAD's evaluation fairly spot on.

To be fair though, they have caught Boston on a hot streak since that was what? Their 6th straight win in these playoffs? and they really should probably be going home 1-1.

If the Wiz can win these 2 at home, maybe that cools the Celtics off a bit and the Wiz can get game 5?

Pretty well.

There are a lot of defense only bigs in the league today. As long as the rest of the roster had players who could score, he would do really well.

Ideal fit for Big Ben would be a team like the Rockets with a stretch 4 and many skilled guards.

Why can't the Wizards as a whole play better defense? Guys like Wall, Beal, Porter and Morris are all athletic and versatile... what gives?

Yeah... I'm questioning their will to win. Roll up the sleeves, fellas... play some damn D.

Fair pts. & I am usually frustrated by their defense. They appear to be particularly bad coming off screens which create very unfavorable matchups. They also have a tendency to leave players wide open for long shots way too often. Perhaps some of this is due to personnel but you have to wonder if coaching & perhaps desire are also factors (although I doubt the latter). I am not sure if they can address this now but perhaps something to look at in the offseason.

I think the Wiz should bounce back and play well in Washington--- obviously they need more from their bench though- esp. if Porter and Morris have any lingering injury issues. Oubre seems to be getting the biggest share of PT off the bench- and he has been playing decently enough- but after that its kinda been a black hole from the bench.

Forget the bench - they need more from Beal for starters. He had a terrible game the other nt. I feel confident that he will rebound tonight.
