Hakstol to Vegas will have an impact on who they pick from the Flyers and the Leafs I am sure.

My thoughts as well.
I was reading that Hakstol and Ghost never saw eye to eye when they were together. So hoping they take JVR or even Jake for our cap flexibility. It would be a complete disaster if they take Hagg or NAK as we gain peanuts for cap space. If we still had Jori Lehtera or Dale Weise, they would be shoe ins to be taken.

I think Hak will for sure take one of the two. My money is they will take Jake.

I really just can't see anyone taking NAK. He was awful last season. He's got like 10-15 games of being a good bottom 6 guy and 50 of being a major detriment to the team.

Hagg I could see, but I really think it'll be easy for them to get 6 d-men better than him. Only being able to protect 3 d-men exposes a good player, or 2, on every team.

JvR is my bet if the Flyers choose not to protect him.

How about those Canadiens !

Love their heart.

I guess that division was underrated all along.

I'll admit to underrating the Canadiens. That's as far as I'll go for now :).

And honestly, it just goes to show that if you get to the playoffs in hockey, anything is possible. You don't have to build a juggernaut. The Habs had 1 more point than the Flyers this year.

If anything is possible why dont we ever get a possibility?? answer below

Its the difference in building a team for playoff hockey and a team full of pusses starting with the captain and move on down the line.

We’d run out of body bags with fallen flyers before the end of the first playoff series

Not sure what the totals were, but I'm pretty sure Montreal had 35+ blocked shots a game. That is called buying in to a system!

When you have leadership on a team guys want to run through a wall for you.

This is what we lack in a big way.

And just think of all the veteran help they acquired, Tyler Taffoli, Eric Stahl and Corey Perry. All come from winning backgrounds.

Where are we, right now?
The Flyers are $13 mill and some change under the cap at this moment.

Sanheim is unsigned.
Hart is unsigned.
Cooter and G are in the last year of deals.

They need both cap space and to add quality at all levels of the lineup. Some of that MAY be possible through internal promotions, but most of it will most likely require either trades or signings.

That is where we are. If they done A). add a top pairing right shot defenseman who can actually play defense (not DeAngelo) then nothing they do on the blue line will be anything more than rearranging the furniture. B). They need to add scoring/speed to the top 6. This could come from a combination of Farabee, Frost and Allison...but relying on two rookies who have histories of injury could be dangerous. Also, TK could rebound. The only way any of these players get the top spots is if they move out either Voracek or JvR or both. (or less likely TK himself). C). They need to sign Hart AND a backup who he is comfortable with but how is capable of playing 30+ games and winning more than 14 of them.

There are bright spots on the horizon, but the absolute need to make changes is so glaring, ....

Time will tell.

Making team wide changes is so important for the future of this team. The problem is Gee has a no trade clause and nobody wants Jake or JVR or Ghost (his trade value should be higher). Thats 34.4 % of our salary cap for players that aren't top players. Unless Fletcher has a magic wand he and us are between a rock and a hard place.

Hopefully Seattle takes JVR or Jake, otherwise we are stuck. If either is taken, there is enough space to sign Hart, Sanheim, a 2G and a top six forward. UFA Dmen are slim, but Ceci would he a definite upgrade without breaking the bank. With York coming up full time, they should try to get as much for Ghost before the expansion draft.

Trading Ghost for the cap space would be worth it. We have too many 3rd pairing dmen that don't play D.

TB vs Isles game seven was pretty boring. Isles had 13 shots in the middle of the third period.
