Im still reserving judgement on Attard because i thought both the Rags and Maple Leafs made him look very slow. He needs to catch up to the speed of the NHL so ill wait until next week.

They played him when they needed to win games and he made them worse. Now they need to lose games and they sit him, which makes them better. This is such a Flyers move.

NCAA to NHL is a huge jump. All year you play a few guys on each team that may make an NHL team. Let him learn the remainder of the year.

I like the concept of the move but not the details. If Petry played the left side, I think that could be a worthwhile gamble. Moving JvR for a similar 'reclamation-type project' that's a LHD, instead of a LW, could be a nice move. Basically trade JvR for a guy you hope can rebound into a top 4 LHD, or at least give Sanheim/York some cover as a decently strong 3rd pair guy; then you can hopefully move Provorov for a difference maker up front.

But Petry is RH and they're already spending 11-12M on Ellis and Ristolainen on that side. Can't afford to spend any more. Petry is also signed for 3 more years after this one, compared to JvR's just 1. I'd rather just keep JvR and ride it out, if those are the two options.

I hope they keep him up for the rest of the season and he grasps the speed of the game. I think he will as i hear good things about his game.

I agree but not about the right handed part i dont think this move is good at all if we have to add Desnoyers just to get rid of JVR and the one season he has left.
