If he was an upcoming free agent it would be a lot easier to trade him this year but that 7 million for next year is tough for teams to swallow.
I'm sure there are quite a few teams looking for a player who stands in front of the net and has pucks deflect off him for goals. Big picture here.

First part of that is kind of obvious. When your best player is on the ice you’re hopefully going to be up near the top of the league in comparison.

But the second half of that shows just how bad Giroux’s supporting cast is.

He could definitely be picked up by a contender and win a Cup this summer. Can play any forward position and fill virtually any role, especially winning faceoffs and providing offense. Has the playoff experience too. 73 points in 85 career playoff games. A lot of that was when he was younger but that's also when we had better teams.

I can't believe I am actually looking forward to the Kings game. A Saturday afternoon game? What am I thining.
Frankly....I just want to not think about work, the weather, or anything else, and just watch hockey. Even a bad game is better than no game.

Hope that Ratcliffe has a good debut. Hope that Hart has a couple of 10 bellers in him.

Counting down to the deadline and then the draft lottery.

Apparently everyone who has claimed that they have to find a solution to this mess known has the Flyers is either fired (like Vigneault, lasting just two seasons), thinking of being traded by management (like Giroux), is injured (a host of players), or contracted the BWEA and had to go into protocols (more of the same). Pretty strange alignment of factors to take a once proud organization and flush it down the toilet.

Things that worked, went right.
1. Carter Hart: Without his performance the Flyers loose. Hart made save after save. He was virtually blameless on the King's goals.
2. PK: Overall the team penalty kill was consistent. Atkinson scoring was just icing on the cake.
3. Cam Atkinson: Atkinson's game showed everything that the Flyers hoped. His overall speed, positional play and shoot first attitude.
4. 4th line: For not just one period or shift, but the entire game, the 4th line played a steady, minute eating physical game.

Things that didn't go so well
1. TK.: Consistently creating openings and offensive chances, and then failing to cash them in. Add the costly turnover for completeness.
2. Lack of team scoring: WIthout Cooter, Farabee and Hayes in the lineup the difference between the attack when Giroux was on the ice and when he wasn't was dramatic.
3. Lack of finish: The Flyers almost let the game get away in the 3rd period. They seriously took their skate off the accelerator and it nearly cost them.

Im just happy to watch a game and get a win. Far and few in between so it just make the day much better when we win.

Stanley cup contenders dont have Giroux as their best player. Giroux is the supporting cast on a cup contender.

Bacon, this says Gee may be headed your way.
He would do well here, no pressure to be THE GUY! Avs need a number 2 center bad and Gee can fit in almost anywhere, question is what do we get in return?

So this guy's plan is to trade the guys that won't bring back anything overly useful, re-sign Giroux and Ristolainen, and uh, I guess hope they're better next year?

Bold strategy!
Lol. Yeah, real stellar analysis by this guy.
