One player we haven't touched on much is Ernest Jones and what he will make if Seahawk's sign him and it appears they likely will. The Athletic has an article on it and they say this:

An appropriate deal for Jones would be a tick below that in the $12 million range, which when adjusted for the cap increase would be on par with the Okereke and Al-Shaair contracts. That would also match the projected contract value Pro Football Focus has for Jones and come in just under Spotrac’s estimated market value of $13 million per year.

The nuts and bolts of the contract — fully guaranteed money, signing bonus, etc. — are just as important as the average annual salary, though the latter is what generates the initial headlines. Depending on how the contract is structured, Seattle could sign Jones to a three-year deal worth about $37 million and keep his Year 1 cap hit around $5-6 million or lower with the use of void years. His percentage of the 2025 salary cap in that scenario would be in the same ballpark as safety Julian Love and cornerback Riq Woolen.

Void years yuck, we need to go a couple to three years with no VOID YEAR contracts. Just to get out from under this cloud that past void years contracts have put us under. There is a reason that void year contracts are not being used ALL the time by EVERY team, it can get you into cap hell.

We are 17 days away from free agency, when are we going to see guys get cut and restructured?

I think they're here to stay unless the player compensation model changes substantially. They can also be a very good tool if used in moderation because there is no interest applied to what is essentially a loan, and the cap continues to increase about 8% a year, give or take. Of the 18 QBs currently ahead of Geno in terms of total contract value, 13 of them have VOID years.

No advantage to doing cuts early so Seahawks likely wait until right before that date, they probably want to settle Geno's situation first. League year starts March 12th and on the 5th day of league year Geno will get a roster bonus so March 17th. Listening to JS say throwing money at problems doesn't work it doesn't sound like any big signing is in the works.

Other teams are making cuts and signing extension.
But i suspect you are right, they will do what they always do in FA, go discount shopping and avoid big signings.

IMO they extend or redo Geno and Metcalf contract, then figure out how much to sign Jones and make cuts accordingly. So business as usual it seems, but for now we can hope they do something to add some excitement and surprise us.

Then he better be drafting o-line if he isn't going with FA's
