Read through a deep dive on Rodgers' 2024 season. Still shows some great arm talent, but its eerily reminiscent to what I saw from 2023 Russ Wilson before convincing myself he was a decent acquisition.

I'm still in the "doesn't really matter anyway" camp. 2025 still has the makings of a punt season given the coaching staff still being the main problem. It's all just lipstick on the pig. Rodgers will at least bring enough drama to make things slightly more laughable.
If they do in fact sign Rodgers and not select a QB? In fairness, the Steelers should have a better defense than the Jets had last season. The Jets defense took a huge step backwards.....

Run the ball with Warren and Gainwell and have Rodgers play game manager and they could be better. Metcalf, Pickens, and Friermuth is some nice offensive talent for Rodgers to throw to. Play good defense and the Steelers could be a team to watch if healthy. Rodgers played better towards the end of season and players typically bounce back in year 2 after the type of injury he sustained. The wild card is A-Rod's age.

I'd be willing to bet Rodgers should still be a top 10-12 type QB.

On paper those weapons look attractive to any QB. When you peel back that layer and see the offense the Steelers run. It is a freaking nightmare that even Rodgers is like nope I am good.

Think I recall reading somethin over the weekend that the Steelers were interested in moving back into the 2nd Rd.

This in combination with all the reports of them pursuing 2nd Rd projected QBs seems to indicate they want to draft a QB on day 2.

I'm all good with a tradeback from the 1st this year.

Would be a good year to do it. They like DL, but the class is deep. Can still find a great player on day 2.

Lol... entertaining thought from a moron:

The fanbase that embraced Mike Vick is refusing to do the same for Aaron Rodgers?

I hated that. I would have cheered if someone ended his career.

Didn't care for it either but wasn't against it.

But the main difference between those 2...Rodgers & Vick... Mike Vick admitted fault & left that life behind. Rodgers has no clue he's the problem and continues to be a self-absorbed ass.

Oh and theres also just a tiny difference between paying someone $1m to be a backup, and $45m to be a starter.

I think a lot of the drama that follows Rodgers around is fabricated by the media. As far as real drama... is there more than him calling out teammates? I didn't have a problem with Ben when he did it.

Media amplifies everything but Rodgers certainly makes it easier than most to put himself in a bad light.

I've watched enough of him on the McAfee Show to know that he's an arrogant & pompous ass. Ben was in the same vein with his radio shows that always led to controversy. Difference is, Ben being tenured & devoting his career to the team gave him the right to speak up or out. Definitely should have been handled more professionally behind closed doors, but the point still stands about him having an inherent or earned right to do it. Rodgers takes that mentality wherever he goes like he's still the same MVP caliber player. You would think at this point he would be more modest after being humbled for a half decade or more. But the odd thing is he seems to get douchier with age. This is my biggest gripe with him. He's simply not good enough to act the way he does. And it seems like at this point in his career he's more interested with his own hobbies off the field and doesn't seem as interested in being great on the field.

As for the drama that impacts the locker rooms... I've never seen the "calling out" of teammates as necessarily a bad thing. Great players try to elevate the people around them. I didn't fully understand Ben's methods until after he retired when we saw just how bad Tomlin can be without his stars covering up his warts. I'm more inclined to believe that Ben felt Tomlin was coddling the players too much for him to have an impact with calling them out behind closed doors.

As for Rodgers... The drama is a little overplayed. I don't necessarily believe he's a coach killer. McCarthy had ample time to prove himself but kept falling short, and the Packers knew their window was closing and needed change. LaFleur came in & did everything he could to tailor the entire team around Rodgers, but eventually found out they were better without him. After the trade, Robert Saleh was in his 4th season at the helm in NY before getting canned midseason. After 1.5 seasons with Rodgers in town. Rodgers went on record to deny the rumors that he had a part in it, and expressed remorse over him getting fired by taking accountability over his own poor play.
